Well... I tried to log on to steam today and it gave me the incorrect log in error. I attempted to recover via email... I didn't receive an email. D: I'm making this topic to see if those who had me on their friends list still have me or if my account is gone from your friends lists (To confirm the hack). I'd recommend doing virus, spyware, adware and every other kind of check you possibly can. Go on hijackthis and run that, see if anything turns up, etc. You don't want to go through all of this trouble getting your account back if it ends up getting stolen again immediately afterwards.

I lost my steam account once too, no one knew my info it just got jacked somehow. I bought a 2nd copy of CSS and luckily that was all that was on the first account.

Either there is something on there or you had a password that was easy enough to guess. I doubt that this person is a real hacker and if he was he probably wouldn't be wasting his time stealing Steam accounts, but who knows.

If you have been using unsecured wifi (like on a laptop at an airport or something) then that could have been where your password and account info was stolen.

Make sure to change all the passwords on your other stuff if you haven't already.

Actually, I think that there's an exploit within Steam, so people who know how to make use of it can just jack accounts at will. It'd explain how randoms can do it, at least.
