yesterday my xbox 360 was just fine, i was playing gears. i turned the xbox off when i was done playing. i noticed something wierd about the power adapter. lo and behold, a red light. i didnt think anything of it, and just unplugged the power adapter. well, upon plugging it in today, the light is still red, and the xbox wont turn on.

You have to send it in to Microsoft.
My Three Shitty has been bricked for months due to me not being able to send it in to Microsoft due to it being a PAL-region Xbox.
Also I'm lazy and I play the PC mostly anyway.

Do you receive any errors on screen? or doesn't it show anything at all on screen?

How many red lights are there? If there is 3, then there is really no hope. Unless of course, you are pretty tech savvy and are willing to open up the Xbox to fix it.

He said the red light is on the power adapter. In my experience with Power adapters, it's most likely gone bad.

Oops, misread his post. Sorry about that.
Have you tried plugging your power adapter into a different Xbox 360? It is possible that the Xbox 360 is not "accepting" power from the adapter, which would then mean your 5v standby line on the motherboard has short circuted. If the power adapter doesn't work on another 360, then it is obviously the power adapter it self.
Also, when you keep the adapter unplugged from your Xbox, but still connected to power, is the light still red? If it is orange but turns red as soon as you plug it into your 360, then again, the 5v line on your motherboard must have short circuted as there is no protection there against it.

the power adapter turns red when its to hot, my guess is that it stays red when it goes bad

My friend kicked out the power cord when I was playing CoD, I lost my progress :(
I plugged it back into the xbox and power light was red. I had to wait a bit and fiddle around with it to get it to work back, yours may just be busted though.
Skill, we cant sent PAL ones to MS? wtf.

You can't send PAL region xboxes for repair in an NTSC region most likely.

Microsoft doesn't accept PAL region Xboxes in North America.
That's what I get for trying to save a few bucks.
On the other hand, I now have a really nice $265 paperweight.

ok, wierd shit going on here. i took my 360 to my buddy's house, we plugged it into the wall, and it stayed yellow for about 2 minutes. we pressed the power button on the 360, and it wouldnt turn on, then the light went red. so i unplugged the power brick and proceded to beat the living shit out of it. i plugged it back in, lo and behold, it works. we went on to play 14 hours of videogames.
i have not tried the adapter back at my house yet.

Make sure all parts of the Adapter are plugged in firmly and correctly. Replug-it-in to your xbox and then try it again. If your adapter is dangling from a shelf like mine is, this can happen more often.
