That won't cause sapien to not open, I get it every time I open up a UI.map. But looking on the forums it seems like you extracted some tags, someone else had the same problem when they used some of CMTs. Try recursively extracting bloodgulch.scenario in hek+, then open it.

SOLUTION: Go through all the tags you just changed and make sure your block indexes do not say -1. Its usually one of the funtions in the tank's vehicle tag. Just find someone and get the tank folder from them.It's amazing what a little searching can do.

When I got the error, it was when I extracted the custom warthog from Yoyo V2. I ended up having to use an old animation tag because I didn't see anything wrong with it.
What map are you trying to extract tags from?

im trying to get the scenario file from bloodgulch and i didn't edit any tags or anything... I want to make a map for Halomaps.org (modified bloodgulch)
im going to insert tags and stuff and do some new stuff with it (It's not gonna be a normal mod...)

Delete your scorpion folder in tags\vehicles. Then use the scorpion folder in the rar.

What do you mean by properly extracting them? There is only one way to extract tags from a map file, and that is with Hek+.

Weapons are placed as netgame equipment in multiplayer maps, so they don't show in sapien but they are still placed on the map.

how do i make an item collection... if forgot goto new item collection then add then browsed for the .weapon file what do i put in weight and in item do i keep it item or change to weapon?

How about you go and look at an existing item collection tag, instead of asking us about every little thing. And as Kalub said, don't make another BG mod. Nobody plays them, and all they do is clutter up halomaps with more crap.

Yes, you link it to the .weapon. You can always tell because if you link the wrong tag it turns red, and I think it only allows you to browse for .weapon tags anyways. The weight doesn't do much. Set it to 100 or something.

ok good but how come the ma5k tag i downloaded just comes out as a normal AR but only with 32 bullets and shoots slower... (same model,skin,sounds,animations ETC)

The FP (First Person) Model isn't set up correctly in the .weapon tag, or it doesn't have one.

Haha, I would +rep you but I have to spread it around first.
RC4life, as I said for the item_collection, go look at how other tags are set up in order to learn. I'll go ahead and help you though, but please, don't rely on us for every little thing that you need help with.
Open the weapon tag, make sure the model field at the top has the third person model tag for the ma5k referenced. Then scroll down to where a big gray block says, "interface". Directly under it should say "first person model", make sure the first person model tag for the ma5k is referenced. Under that is the model animations field, make sure it has the ma5k animations tag referenced.
Where did you get these tags?

oh im sorry i just realized what I typed.
I mean MaC5 or w/e the halo 3 assault rifle is called.
And I downloaded the tag from halomaps.org.
Do I just do the same thing?
E: Also when u say make sure its referenced can you please specify what type of tag to refer to (.weapon ETC)

Yes you do the same thing.
It's pretty self explanatory as to what tag type to reference. For models, you use ".gbxmodel". For animations you use ".model_animations".

Alright, if you open up your fp.gbxmodel locate the shaders are they referenced correctly? Then open up those shaders, do they have the diffuse and multipurpose referenced correctly?

pretty much everything when i opened the weapon tag was referenced to the normal AR.
