I think your monitor is not receiving a signal.

Did you plug your monitors VGA cable into the wrong port in the back? I've done it a few times, stuck it into the mobo's integrated graphics port instead of the graphic cards port.

Turn off the screensaver?

I have a similar problem with my monitor, it goes into sleep mode if it's not getting a signal, so turning off the screen-saver fixes it for me.
I usually turn my monitor off if I'm leaving for a long time anyway, so I don't see the point in having a screen-saver or a sleep mode. :\

Edit:

Oh wow, what the fuck am I inhaling?
the video cable is connected wrong somewhere, or your monitor's set to a different channel. I'm using a Dell 2306 TV, make sure it's set to VGA or PC or something like that.

Well i can't really change the setting and i did put it in the right video card slot since its a divx slot on the graphics card. The funny thing though is when i dont have my monitor connected to the computer but i have it connected to the divx converter thing for the vga cord it says power save mode. I just hope i dont have to get a new monitor cause i got this one 8 months ago and it cost like $250.

Check to see if you have an SLI or (Crossfire?) Motherboard, and if so there should be a little chip either between or near the PCI-E ports that you pull out and turn around to activate SLI, and If this is not seated correctly or backwords it will cause your monitors to not recieve a signal.

I pulled out a HDD, it came out a little, and I spent 3 hours trying to figure that out...Im not sure if it is the case on ALL SLI/Crossfire Mobo's, but it was on mine.

-Its the chip in the left-center that says "ASUS Patent Pending"
