i think it became available today, but what ever the reason, this is awesome.
What does the american dream mean today?
For Niko Bellic fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape from his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity. As they slip into debt and get dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.
New high resolution technology brings Liberty City to life with even more stunning graphical detail
Expanded multiplayer will require even more strategy and skill to come out on top
Custom Match allows you to pick your favorite multiplayer options and then instantly find online matches that fit
Record gameplay clips and edit them together with a variety of options using the Video Editor and upload via the Rockstar Social Club
Optimized for PC controls and Xbox 360 controller$49.99 US

The features are amazing. Now all I have to do is upgrade my gfx card.

Awesome, I'm getting it. I never touch the console versions of GTA for one reason - I can't easily import custom user-created real-life-brand cars into the game. Trivial, I know, but for me that feature makes the PC version totally own the console versions.

I found GTA4 to be a disapointment. Didn't even want to finish the game.

THIS. OH MY GOD THIS.
It's NOTHING like the previous GTAs, it's just incredibly boring.
Don't get your hopes up for the multiplayer, either. It's all just very very boring.
also, graphics are actually fairly mediocre. Faces look crap, low-res textures everywhere.

They werent going for "like the previous GTAs" game lol. They went more....uh serious. Which just happens to take alot of the fun out of the game. Oh look! Saints Row 2 ttyl :downs:

*See Yahtzee's review for pretty much my opinion*
^ Emphasis on "Grand Theft Normal-Boring-Life".

I actually liked it a lot, especially multiplayer. The narrative was well done... though I kinda wished the phone thing was a bit... uhm... less annoying.

San Andreas owns all. Period. Only problem is that it's not optimized AT ALL. My computer beats the recommended requirements by a little bit and I have to put everything on low to get decent framerate.

WHAT!? GTA4 was fun as hell. You guys are just fucking picky. If you want something fake go buy another Sci-Fi game then. The Multiplayer was a big highlight of it. Certainly GTA4 MP 100X> Saints Row 2 mediocre attempt.

GTAIV wasn't nearly as fun or interesting as any of the GTAIII games. I have no idea how it was so highly rated.

Guys, since this is the PC version and all PC versions of GT have supported user-created content...can't the problem of "only two air vehicles" be remedied by dedicated fans? The ability to have user-created content is the one and only reason why I only play the PC versions of GTA and not the console versions. I did try GTA 4 for a couple minutes at the Futureshop store, just driving around and blowing up random shit. Not really any different from other GTAs in my perspective.
I don't have a particular favorite GTA game (played III, Vice City, and San Andreas, also tried out the PSP versions at school) but GTA IV did seem fun to me. I don't know what's "boring" about the cell phone features in GTA IV (can't wait to try those). And from what I hear, GTA IV addresses one serious fault from previous games - your car blows up if it's flipped over, even if it did not suffer any damage prior to the flipping. This could allow me to perform more interesting stunts.

GT4 was fine, on the xbox. I don't think I'm going to buy it on Steam. I just bought Left 4 Dead.

GT4 PC has free multiplayer :D No overpriced XBL crap (pisses me off, I can only play Halo 3 MP in split screen and my co-op can have only 2 players offline).
I won't get GTA4 from Steam though, I'll wait a few days after the boxed copy releases in stores. Then I'll be downloading custom cars all day.

this is one of the most demanding games out now, if not the most.
unless you have a gig video card and like 4 gigs of ram, don't expect to run the game on even medium settings at a high res.

I wouldn't say XBL is overpriced. It's not even a nickel a day. 50$ for all the online content plus multiplayer? If it were a monthly fee I'd say get out of here. Is GTA4PC going to even allow user content? Seems to be the unpopular thing these days.
