Modern warfare 2? Hope the single player isn't as linear this time. I got really pissed off every time McMillan died for no reason when I stepped out of the linear path.

@Limited: Winter means early the following year, if I'm not mistaking.
Also, coming THIS fall, or 2009 fall? The article is a little vague.
E:
Overnight reports from the US that mega-publisher Activision Blizzard will release new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk titles next year are "speculative", the company has told VideoGamer.com

WTF? So was it or wasn't it really confirmed that here will be a COD:MW2 sequel?

Why the fuck is it giving you retards such a hard time to understand this?
COD:Modern Warfare 2 is coming out in Fall 2009, probably October.
If it says they're releasing a new Modern Warfare, that obviously means Modern Warfare 2, Shit.

The story is so amazingly good, the flashback was an amazing mission.
I really can't wait to see what they do with MP Perks, weapons, and what could be progressed after the ending in MW. I wonder if they'll even carry on soaps story. :)

We realise this, we're saying that we're getting kind of really fucking sick of the same themes over and over.
There have been:
Very few (good) Vietnam games
No Korean War games that I know of, unless you count Mercs (but that wasn't even the original war)
No Falklands games (I fucking want this shit bad)
No Malayan Emergency games
No Far East theatre of WWII games (namely Burma)The list goes on. There are a whole spate of interesting conflicts which could be made into incredible games, but nobody has the balls to actually step out there and do it.

Gimme the trenches. I can think of several good missions for a WWI game, as long as it's done Red Orchestra style. I'm just getting sick of seeing the same 5 guns from WWII games: MP40, K98, StG 44, M1A1 Thompson, M1 Garand. Boring. I'll take the Chauchat or the Lews Mk. II over yonder, and teach some Krauts to cross No Man's Land

I'm with ross. I want one of the conflicts concerning the Falklands or Kosovo/Serb. Either that or try and do a good Vietnam or Korean War game.

In the US, Winter means the last few months of the year, and never the first few months, unless specified as, say, "Winter 08/09".
