Other than the price of the phone, does anyone know how much extra it is to upgrade to a Blackberry Storm? I'm on a family plan right now and I'm the secondary account? Help will be appreciated as the damn verizon site won't go into detail enough. What did they tell you that you had to get with it or what was optional?

Did your contract expire?
If it did, then you will probably have a small fee to pay (maybe $20; I haven't worked in retail for 6 months and the details are getting fuzzy), the upgrade cost (which is the discounted cost of the phone, and since it is a new phone I'm guessing ~$100).
If your contract did not expire:
You will have to pay the entire price of the phone (you can upgrade anytime while you are still on your contract, but you must pay the total cost of the phone).
Logic Behind this:
*Contracts are a way of getting phone companies for you to pay a fee for using their service as well as slowly paying off your phone, so in this sense, once the contract is ended, you have payed off your debt. You have to continually pay this monthly fee until you have paid of your original purchase, but you may purchase additional units at full charge (because this merchandise isn't being loaned/mortgaged to you).

Every two years? Please read the fine print, it might say something about when this actually becomes active (for example it might become active when your contract expires).

Yea our first contract started in May 2 years ago, but you can qualify early (our's just happened to be december) to get a new phone at a discounted price when you renew your contract. We can get 50$ off currently.

I will take an educated guess and say that you will have to pay the upgrade fee, and the discounted phone price. The catch, I think, would be that you'd have to renew your contract for another two year period if you bought the phone (and do whatever getting a new contract entails for Verizon customers).

I was also finding out something about paying an extra 30$ (a month)when you buy blackberry phones for an e-mail plan and browser. I wonder if this is optional or can you activate it later. Maybe somebody with a Verizon blackberry Storm can answer that.

That I don't know. If its is specifically for the Blackberry, maybe it is the same as the system with the iPhone. Or maybe it is an optional package you could get with any phone, which would mean that you don't need to get it.
