Aight, so two years ago I played Half-life 2, CSS, all that shit and suddenly stopped until now. Now I reinstall HL2, run it and get this error "Internal driver error in IDirect3DDevice9::Present()". As usual, I start pmsing my brains out on why this is happening because I just upgraded my drivers and DirectX, so I roll back to the drivers back in 2005 and now it runs and plays. This is such a tricky error and usually it doesn't depend on your system specs. It's odd because other DirectX 9 games work perfectly fine with my Radeon Xpress 200 but not Source games. WHAT THE FUCK :saddowns: Rant officially over.

I can see you didn't read the whole thing. I already resolved the problem, it's just that it was so effing annoying. COUGHRANTCOUGHBARF

Norton screwed with HL2 until I uninstalled it.

It's installed on my machine but all I needed to do was roll back my drivers all the way back to 2005. -_- This doesn't make sense.

What's your video driver? And the driver you used before, was it an official driver or a modded one?

Catalyst 8.12, the newest one straight from the AMD site. I don't know what the drivers from 2005 were called but those ones worked.

That would be 5.6, I believe...or maybe it was 6.1...I can't remember when they switched over to the CCC.
