Doesn't look something I can afford, considering it's supposebly better than 4870X2. :(

Yeah it's the king of all that is 3D, but I prefer to stay away from SLI for multi monitor's sake. Plus Nvidia's past histroy of support for the dual cards has been pretty bad.

Wasn't it obsolete by the time the 4870X2 came out?

Not really, no. It's still the fastest card that is free from the troubles of SLI / CrossfireX. Price is a bit too high for it's performance though.

Damn, that's one nice card, though it'll cost a fortune.

When this releases, AMD will lower prices on the rest of their cards, forcing nVidia to do the same. I see nothing wrong with this picture.

Many have Intel GMAs...
Edit: I should mention... the author of that article (Ryan Shrout) comes down to irc://irc.dslextreme.com/#twitlive (mostly just before, during and after he records his video podcast, PC Perspective... but he's around other times too...)
He talks a lot about this stuff in the IRC... pop down, you might be there when he's around.
Leo Laporte too... which isn't surprising since it's his podcast network >_>
