Drive acting weird.

I got a new hard drive thats running vista. I have no problems with this drive but when I'm in vista the drive that runs XP randomly cuts off and the starts up again. I hear a little "Patchoooooo" when it turns off then it goes "reeeeEEEE" as it starts back up. I don't know why and it kind of worries me.
The sounds are normal its just that its doing it alot and I don't have any clue as to why.

It's normal. I have 2 drives and it does that as well. Saves power and your other HDD lives longer. You could disable it of course but I would only recommend that if you are constantly accessing it.
