Just got my new 360 arcade, and was really happy to get it. I thought I could get this (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/hddoffer/default.htm) special offer, but xbox.com KEEPS saying that I have a normal 360 or elite serial/ID, when I have an arcade. Seriously, wtf? I HAVE got it from the right place, have not mixed up the numbers, used ONLY number, and this xbox 360 has not been owned before. It came from target. So, why is it confusing my xbox 360 model?

Now I might end up speding $60 for a 20gb HD and $100 for the wireless adapter, which is $360 total.

Just if your wondering, I entered them TWENTY FIVE times, have reversed the ID and Console serial just to see if that works, and checked each number entering THREE TIMES before I submitted them.

Did you call Microsoft? (1-800-4-MY-XBOX)

Thats not true, they are very helpful.

I often go to tech help people and they are very patient and understanding, regardless of their rap as shitty help.

Just never, EVER, call Hot Topic for order changes.

Neither you, nor them, can understand a goddamn word through accents.

If it helps, I just didn't get the system. I got the arcade bundle.

But BOTH have the same included components and same free games.

So whats the difference between system and bundle?

But damn thats a great offer, even 3 months XBL alone is more than $30.

Why don't you edit your posts :(?

Anyway, just keep trying xbox support, they are always helpful whenever I call them. People just complain because they don't get the help IMMEDIATELY or they can't have it their exact way. Sometimes they do have bad faults though but that's not a problem, just ask for a different representative.

The lady there told me to call back if i had problems and gave me a number for my problem.
I don't see how they'll magically be able to get my serial to just work, but I hope that they can.

I have a hard time believing that, since a year is $50.

D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DOUBLE POSTER

They probably put a non-arcade 360 in an arcade box. I mean, there's no notable difference between the arcade and core consoles, right? (Not bundles, consoles)

No, there's no difference between a core console and the console you get in the arcade bundle. However, an arcade/core console has a white disk tray and eject button where as the Premium 360 consoles have a chrome disk tray and eject button. Madkiller, what color is your eject button/disk tray (where it says Xbox 360)? Is it white or chrome?

White. I thought all xbox 360's had chrome colored disk trays.

And if this helps, my xbox was made November 11th, 2008.

After goggling the error it gave me and going through quite a bit of links, I found some saying that apparently it requires your xbox to come with only 128mb of available space...but guess what? Mine came with 256mb of storage space, and that is in the console somehow.

Guess I'm spending $30-$70 more just because I have 128mb more .

I looked around more. It's not for the people who got the newer xbox. For some reason, MS only offers this to people with the 256mb portable devices, NOT the 360s with the 256mb storage built into them. That's seriously stupid, it seems like they did that just so people would have to spend more on a hard drive.

Don't just assume they won't be any help. They're plenty of help to me, they even gave me MY XBL account back when it got hacked and stolen!

I have found out my xbox 360 was NOT eligible since MS installed 256mb of memory into the system, something they started to do instead of the 128mb portable device. That is considered "enough", because it hold the new xbox update. Really, that's just cheap and greedy of them. Looks like I'm speding $60-$120 instead of $30.

Brother, just complain to them over it. Don't just assume there is absolutely no help. You can still possibly get it..

Exactly. You sound like you don't want to try and just like complaining.

I'll try tommorow, but I don't think there is anything a support employee can do for me.

You'd need to represent yourself in court if you don't want to pay a lawyer.

And this is less than $100. Seriously, not worth a lawsuit.

Ok, sorry for double/tripple posting. (Also, I'm not metkiller joe if your confusing me).

In a little bit I'll call MS support and hope I'll be able to get this done, but if not I can go to gamespot and get it for $60, which is still a lot better than $120.

I have a hard time believing that, since a year is $50.
Prior to the recession/currency messed up issue, Xbl for 3 months was $28USA in UK. The price has no dropped, therefore we havent benefited, so in our money its still $28.

I live in UK, we get overpriced for everything.

This is to compensate the owners of older Xboxs who have had lots of problems, plus they're system could conc out on them.

It still sucks you cant get the offer, maybe just keep badgering MS about it and they will give in.

Just say the whole thing that you saw the offer and were going to spend your only Christmas money buying it, but were devastated when you realised you couldnt get it because of a stupid stipulation. Basically just milk it over the phone.

I wanted a PS3. The only reason I didn't get it was because a xbox arcade and 20gb Hard drive for $230 seemed like a great deal. Now there is a really good chance I'm spending $60-$120, plus another $100 for the wireless adapter...if you add that up, that's about as much as a 60GB PS3.
