I don't know how many of you follow the iPod/iPhone Jailbreaking scene, or how many of you own an iPod Touch 2G/iPhone 3G, but for those that do this is awesome! "redsn0w" is the codename for the iPod Touch 2G jailbreak, and released earlier this month was "yellowsn0w" which is the iPhone 3G unlock. This is great news for people who got these devices as gifts for Christmas (like me), and are wanting more freedom and customizablility.

For the people who have either the iPod Touch or iPhone, what do you think about this news?

Sorry for shitty worded, short post. Typing from my iPod Touch

There was also the bluetooth unlock called bluesn0w. I have plenty of friends who have been wanting to jailbreak their second gen touches.

I thought I should give this a bump for anybody interested. A Semi-Tethered Jailbreak has been released earlier today (semi-tethered meaning that once you are using your jailbroken firmware, you will be able to use jailbroken apps until you restart your iPod which will then revert you back to regular firmware). Plenty of info and tutorials HERE (http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=172) for those that are interested.

I jailbroke my 1st Generation Touch back during the 2.1 update. I tried it out, and it was okay, but I decided not to rebreak my Touch when I upgraded to 2.2. The appstore is bounds ahead of 20% of the stuff you can get with Jailbreaking, and since only about 30% of the Jailbreak stuff is really useful or fun, Jailbreaking is not worth the hassle.
