I feel your pain. I registered for a class called "Introduction to Game Programming". Now that I'm in the class I see the title is actually "Game Design for Education" and there's absolutely no programming involved.

The truth is, college is bullshit.

Health and Wellness, sophmore year:

The teacher goes

*pulls up a powerpoint*
*title: DRUGS AND ADDICTION*
[I quote verbatim]
Teacher: "*reading off the power point* These substances are called drugs. They are very bad for you."
*he turns to us, removes his glasses*
Teacher: "These substances are called drugs, and they are bad for you."
This is the same class where we watched the "Miracle of Life" while a nun was sitting in the back of the classroom.

Lesson I learned from pointless classes: Do work because the guy teaching it landed that job for a reason.

It's too bad that about 1/2-3/4 of the games will never go out for mac... which makes it useless to me.

My programming teacher (high school) has Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, and of course IE installed on all of our computers... Like he couldn't make up his mind or something... not that it's a hard choice.

Firefox FTW

Sounds as useful as my Theory of Knowledge I.B. class.

So far I haven't improved my knowledge one bit in that class despite the teacher's claims, yet somehow I never got below 85% even though I suck at philosophical discussions.

LOL, technically the new macs are adequate for gaming...if BootCamped (well COD4 for Mac is out haha). And even then they're not outstanding at gaming.

I had a Advanced Java professor like that. She read everything off powerpoints. I hate teachers like that. I paid tuition to learn from you, not to watch you read a board. I know you can do that. Good job. I can read too, I don't need you to do it for me. I ended up passing that class by reading everything from the book and ignoring her up front. Damn ridiculous.....

I'm pretty lucky I guess, all the computer related courses that I've ever taken have been fairly good... The instructors were either very knowledgeable about the subjects they were teaching, or they actually diverted to students who knew what they were talking about. I know that one of my teachers actually let me teach the class a few things in our Multimedia class.

One of our lectures is so lazy, he gets us to do the research on the topic and gets us to present it to the class everyweek, then "grades" us on it. Sneeky bastard.

OT, I just had deja-vu. If I'm right, yoyorast is going to make a post in a minute.

Wait wait wait, you mean that you're actually supposed to do something in that class besides not pay attention and draw? Seriously? You're shitting me, aren't you? Yeah, there's no way you're being serious...

And hoorah for teachers that you can easily outsmart, though that's not always a good thing...

No seriously, my TOK teacher rants about shit that half the class doesn't understand, then he grades us on participation (the reason why I rarely get over 90%), and from time to time we write essays (I do a bit better on these) about global issues...this class is damn weird 0_O but I don't need the credit for university anyway.
