Recording Question

I trying to record some things on halo ce,

i need to find out two things,

A. whats a good recording program?

I used fraps last time, it gave a bit of lag to the recordings, so please tell me whats better.

and
B. whats a good editing software i should use, besides windows movie maker and sony vegas.

Well I believe any program will cut your FPS, mess around with things such as gamecam to see how it goes for you.

Vegas has done wonders for me. There's more to it than you think. I don't know why you would want something other than it.

Premiere Pro is also a good one to use but requires a lot of experience to know how to use it just right. Plus if you get too used to the vegas layout (ie: me), and then try to use Premiere, it becomes so difficult. If you want that you're going to have to shell out a lot more money than vegas would be though.
