Heh. Our school board made a changed to the school calendar this year. They axed a week off the winter break and tacked it onto the end of the summer break, and then made midterms happen after the break. Hell for the students (they get to study during break and get less time off) and hell for the teachers (we have to spend a week pounding the past semester of information back into their heads.) Why? So school didn't interfere with Labor Day tourism. Pah.

Anyway, the dream was stated today, and it comes true tomorrow. Glad I was here to see it happen.

I've set my digital video recorder to record Obama's live inauguration since I'll be at school. Then when I come home I'll watch the recording several times.

Happy MLK day, that man died for a good cause and Obama's victory is a sign that at least some people continue to uphold the values MLK fought for. As for Obama himself, I don't perceive people based on race, the guy could be black or white or orange or red or blue or green and I wouldn't respect him any less.

White presidents cant uphold the values MLK fought for?

White presidents cant uphold the values MLK fought for?

Of course they can. What I'm saying that McCain was blatantly a worse candidate (esp his choice of VP), and if he had won it would imply that American people are still as racist as ever and would vote for the white man even if he's an idiot. I don't know whether McCain is racist or not, but if he had won it would show that what MLK fought for hasn't been upheld very well by the general populace. Obama's victory shows that in this generation, many more Americans than before can see past an individual's skin colour. As I said, Obama could be white or blue or red or green, if I were a U.S. citizen I would still vote for him.

If it had been a white-man-vs-white-man campaign then I wouldn't make this connection at all. It didn't have to be white-man-vs-black-man, it just needed to be white-man-vs-any-other-race.

I'm not saying everyone did, but a very large portion of his votes came from people who DID. I am trying very hard not to sound racist, but didn't ninty-something percent of the African-American voters vote for him? Tell me that has nothing to do with race...

just an observation. I must say he is a VERY strong politician.

Well I know almost every African-American voted for Obama, but the African Americans are still a minority. For Obama to win, a significant number of Caucasian Americans (the majority of the American population) must have voted for him as well. That is why I see Obama's victory as a sign that today more and more Americans appreciate and uphold what MLK fought and died for. A few decades ago, many white Americans wouldn't credit the black candidate's merits and would vote against him just because of race - now that has clearly changed.

What? No. At least 60-70% of African-Americans vote DEMOCRAT. Obama added votes to the average but not much.

The posts related to the reason he got voted in is the very opposite could be true. Theres conspiracy theories going around about Obama just being a puppet. Bush was essentially the same thing, chosen to do the work of who ever is behind the curtain, he was very easily persuaded, and just plain dumb. While it worked, the presidency lost almost all of its support torwards the end and he was lucky he had a second term.

This time around there choosing someone who has a better public reputation. They knew he would win because McCain just had no way to win, he sort of has the look down for big white rich dude who doesnt give a crap about anyone but big white rich people so it was obvious he was going to lose even though the election was as close as it was its mainly because of the population of republicans vs democrats and the current reign that had been going on with republicans.

Long story short, Obama might be the new puppet, but it'll be masked much better, he'll actually have American support this time, hes smart and charismatic, and will most likely be easily persuaded by others. While he might think hes doing good he may end up doing bad, and no one will know until its too late.

Don't get me wrong I think Obama has good intentions and I believe he was a better choice than McCain, its just that I'm not so sure Obama will be able to do the right thing if the right thing is disguised.

I forget where I read it but apparently he is listening to the persuasive people in the white house or the people behind the curtain a little too much, and then some conspiracy theories about starting different wars with the idea of maintaining the US and British world Reign of power, and to sort of push back on the Russians/Siberia and China (its a conspiracy theory idk what backing it has it just makes me a little uneasy).

To be honest Obama is the perfect president for them to do this and get away with it. Hes Charismatic and has a following and support, currently he can do almost anything and he'd get away with it. Except there not gonna let us know its happening, its going to be small slow movements with small changes until its too late to fix.

Basically the theory is that Obama isn't strong enough to avoid the persuasive-ness that will take place when hes in office, and they'll be masked to look like things we need when there true goal is this new world order thing.

While he might be a good president in the right hands the truth is hes currently the right man in the wrong hands imo. Theres more going on here than we really know and there always has been. Thats my opinion of what could potentially happen. :(

I just hope I'm wrong... and if he doesnt comply like they hope he does, he'd be the easiest president in the world for someone to Assasinate (in a conspiracy) and get away with it completely. (How easy would it be for them to blame the klan if something did happen).

The reason that he won't be assasinated is because hes probably the best puppet they can get there hands on right now, the reason for him being assasinated has a much higher chance of being because he won't comply.

It'd be so easy to black mail him too... all they have to do is say they won't protect him anymore if he doesn't do something.

In a perfect world Obama would be an amazing president he has good intentions and he has Charisma and a following, unfortunately in the real world thats not how things work.. look at the Kennedy presidencies, the difference here is I think Obama might be more controlable then they were, and thus won't be assasinated by the "government".

I'm not saying the government is behind it... its the people who manage to find a way into the system and the people we don't really know about, they're the ones in control and they had a field day with the Bush Administration. :(

If this isn't the case then I believe he will do good things for us.
