View Full Version : H3 Mongoose for yoyoV2 : 3rd P animator nedeed!

The title says it all.. We're talking about Matooba's Mongoose here for yoyorast Island V2.. inferno has been working on the driver anim and it looks it's turning out well.. but the passenger anim is another harder part to anim.. The biped should be standing up holding himslef with one hand at the barre in front of him, then should be able to use weapons with his other hand and move this arm at 180° to target and fire..

Inferno is my new partner on V2, things are progressing very well.. and it's a matter a little weeks till we can have fun on V2... at last :)

This is literally the Halo 3 mongoose. We need someone to animate the passenger seat so its exactly like halo 3. I did the driver seat pretty well but that was a simple seat to do.

I thought about it. Decided that if I turned it on I would get gang banged by Snaf, CN, Shadow, and probably anyone else who disagrees with me, so I decided not to.

If y'all do this right, it'd be a great addition to CE. I would plus rep, but that doesn't do anything anymore. :gonk:

If you mean the beta, yes you can rip the models, but I don't believe you can get the textures. The final game has some crazy encryption/compression/something that nobody's gotten around yet.

I knew those animations were for the beta. People kept saying it was from the final game. That's youtube for you.

In any case, Halo's gun animations have always been kinda boring anyway.. If any game, I'd want to extract FP animations from Unreal Championship 2. Those were hardcore.

You guys coulda just made it clear that it was the entirety of ZTeam and not just CAD without the doucheyness and calling people fanboys. All that youtube description said was that everyone was cunts, and listed the ZTeam members, not specifically saying ZTeam as a whole programmed it. I wouldn't care if it didn't happen with all mine and Shadows accomplishments, but it does. From here on, assume Shadow and I have a major part in most of what he shows. The tags and scripts he posts are all his, but the technical side of how he got the content and whatnot is most likely Shadow and I.

About the "doucheyness", it's obviously the only way to get my point through your preteen skulls. I've tried shrugging it off in the past, but the problem persists.

I'm 20, boy. 21 next month.

What I don't get though, is, if you're not enjoying what you're doing, why are you doing it? Halo's modding community is a fucking piranha tank compared to other games. Games like UT, and HL2 are apparently loads of fun to mod, and I've never seen nearly as much drama in those modding communities as I have the Halo ones.

Why waste our time when we can just put zteam? I guess it's too much for us to expect that you would have the common sense to know we all had a part in it, right? CMT always gets credit as a whole, even when masters posts the content, I don't see the difference with our scenario.

Honestly, I don't know if half the CMT fans even realize that Masterz is the head of CMT. CMT as a whole is a huge name in Halo, so is CAD and ZTeam seperately. If CAD were to put something like "ZTeam - H3 Animation Extractor" then it would make more sense.

But really, fail to see why this is such a big deal.

There is a list of people that have worked on/contributed to the map that will go on the wall of the credits room in V2. Quite a few people have contributed, including myself.

Well, I have to say I lost a LOT of time with some lazy, not qualified partners or unmotivated guys also guys who had no time to give afterall.. and sometimes everything at the same time.. lol .. Also had some good ones.. but this lost time afterall, let me think , let me test and retest , let me model and remodel .. it's with this waiting time that I thougt about the panic room, the doors , the shields and some other things...

SO guys at Zteam, for having completly screwed my thread with your off topic stories.. you ow me one.. you guys have now no choice to let me use your 3rd P H3 Anims.. come one guy :D be :cool:

Ok Yohan, I got the updated files and put the rider animation models in max. Who evers rigged MC that was lost some weighting during export or something. I have a backup mc. I should have them done by the end of the week.

Amzing Mat, thanks, can't wait to see it done.. o and about the guy standing atthe back, don't waste your time remodel the Mongoose or animate his legs position.. it's fine at it was you know.. just need to animate his body and arm holding weapons you know.. I edited it but every single polygons have been moved, removed or been changed.. I mean no polygon is the same.. you'll see it by yourself very soon hopefully ;)

It's just an aim-still animation, easily accomplished in CE.

Exit animations need to be short so you can bail out if something goes wrong.

That isnt the exit animation for driver. Its the rear riders animation. I will make it simple to make the masses happy i guess.

I find it very nice as it is.. but as said inferno, you had the MC driver anim already made by him no? cause it was good.. aerodynamic postion you know.. except for the arms postion.. too paralell to the ground, too horizintal .. see what I mean inferno.. other than that it was perfect..

And Mat, you retouched the physics or? cause it looks better / smoother then before.. Keep it up with the good work..

Simple is better in some cases. A back flip is a bit unnecessary and a standard step off will work just fine.

Yeah, it would be cool, but I'm just saying that on a seriously anticipated map such as Yoyo v2, a backflip (or frontflip) out of the Mongoose passenger seat wouldn't... exactly fit with the rest of the map...:fail:

Same speed as in the video. Matooba is the last person to have edited the Mongoose, and probably will be the last.

It is very important the Mongoose go the same speed or just a little little faster than the classic hog.. cause in da map, ramps are made in a way every different vehicle can jump correclty.. if one goes faster, one jump can become a shortcut. Also I dont want people to prefer driving the mongoose always cause its faster..

and my question is answered...thank you mr yoyorast for answering this question. it was bugging me as I had never seen any mongoose on any CE map pull off the Halo 3 mongoose gunner seat rotation. the closest I've done is the biped sat down and could only turn from side to side

if someone thought I used sarcasm in this post, I didn't. I just like to show respect to the more seasoned map makers

I got the acc rider animations done and the passenger now shoots in 90's, but i have to fine tune some of the animations cuz hes placed to low and forward. But making good progress...

The modeling has been finished. Inferno is making progress on the map, but is having some trouble with the portals. Matooba will be done with the mongoose before the map is ready to release. And before you ask the question, which I know you will, here is the answer: we don't know how long until the map will be released. Just be patient.

If he's interested in modding he should learn to model because it would be beneficial in every way possible. Then he doesn't have to rely on others to do work he can do himself. If you guys want to get on my case for no good reason some more, just pm me.
