Mr Buckshot

So yeah, I think everyone from both the West and the East knows who Jackie Chan is, given that he has starred in a considerable number of English-speaking movies.
But since the mid-1990s, Jackie Chan has pretty much fallen into mediocrity, with his Western movies showing the slump first. Now I ain't saying that all Asian actors flop in English-speaking movies, I mean Jet Li and Ken Watanabe and Chow Yun-Fat have shown talent in American movies, even in merely supporting roles. But Jackie Chan's movies just really sucked over the past decade. After starring in one shitty western movie after another, Jackie Chan then went home and started starring in one shitty Hong Kong film after another. I don't know that many of his Hong Kong movies, but the recent ones that I watched were just as bad as his western screwups.
IMO, Jackie Chan's last good western movie was Rumble in the Bronx, then he started to flop. Shanghai Noon was a bit ok (its sequel was not), the whole Rush Hour series was total trash, the Tuxedo was pathetic, etc. In Hong Kong, his shitty movies included Who Am I, Twins Effect, Accidental Spy, etc. Basically, Jackie Chan just cancelled out the success of his Police Story series of the 1980s - which I think were his best movies.
Now, this flick I saw on Youtube, which, while not the best of Chan's efforts, does manage to redeem him a bit. Now I can finally forgive his flops to some extent. It's not actually new (made in 2004), but it's definitely the best of his 21st-century local movies.
English title: New Police Story (not related to the old series)
Chinese title: 新警察故事
Language: Cantonese with a surprising amount of English here and there (English is sometimes used by the bad guys, look at Hong Kong's history to understand why). English subs too, no worries

This movie, while filmed in Cantonese, is definitely done in a very Westernized style. Hope people like it.
