How do I install custom maps?

I have put the custom map files in my maps folder but they ain't showing up in the game.

It is a known issue that some maps don't show up...best way to really show up is have someone make a server or dedi and download it.

As an added WTF, the download manager will even tell you already have a map similar and if you want to overwrite it.

Buying the game fixed this problem for me.

Well I "legally" own it, but it still persists, its happened with 3/5 custom maps I downloaded and put in...
