Actually, if they sweat too much the ref calls timeout and makes them wipe off.

Ah ok.

Well I'm not a fan of grappling recently toweled off men.

Quick question, why do you wear that like cap? Doesnt seem strong enough to be used as a helmet, is it to protect the other persons hand if they accidentally hit you in the head?

You're right, we have to work out our necks everyday so we don't break them while wrestling, but dangerous slams are prohibited, its to protect the ears when in headlocks, because after a while you can develop hearing problems plus cauliflower ear, which basically makes your ear swell up in a grotesque manner that will eventually pop and ooze out lots of blood.

Yeah, you get cauliflower ears in rugby too :)

I dont understand the rules to wrestling either, sumo yes, you just gotta get the guy out of the ring, but regular is more technical.

Jcap, what position do you play? :)

Its alot simpler then you think, as long as the move puts no pressure on joints in a threatening way, or promotes major harm, its legal, the whole point is to get the man on his back, 3 ways to win are by pin, points or technical fall. To pin simply get both of your opponents shoulder blades on the mat for 2 seconds. The way to win by points, is by take down, which is getting the player on the ground and having obvious control of them, which is 2 points, escapes, which are worth 1 point and is just you getting out of a takedown or hold, and then back points, when you have the opponent on hisback but only one or neither of his shoulder blades are touching the mat, if the match lasts the whole 6 minutes, 3, 2 minute periods, then the person with the most points win. Then finnally, technical fall, tech fall for short, is the worse way to lose, basically if you get 15 points ahead of the other player before the 6 minutes are up you get a techfall which is an automatic win.

Did: diving, soccer, swimming, running, athletics in general, discus, long jump, high jump canoeing cricket and soccer for 10 years.
also footy, all types.

Dont do anything these days though, too lazy and i like my weekends being free.
Plus work is just like weight lifters in disguise.

i calculated one day (on the buisiest day or most draining day that we had in a fair whie) how many kilo's of weight i'd picked up, moved, pushed or pulled.

it was around
52 tonnes.
get ya head around that.

i have been doing running though, just a km run every so often.

Not in any sports teams, but I can play ultimate frisbee, soccer, ping pong, badminton, and I'm interested in learning ice hockey (the ultimate Canadian sport).

Over the summer holidays, I've gone swimming, kayaking (lots of places to that in BC :P), ice skating, bowling, and rock climbing (on fake walls).

I'm not particularly athletic, I mean I'm quite fit at my age (not fat, not skinny) but I'm not the stellar student in PE class or anything.

Knife throwing, archery, shooting, kayaking, weight lifting, bike riding, running (usually on a rock reef at low tide or up and down cliff faces).

Mostly into marksmanship since I can consciously control my heart rate down to near 35 bpm. Makes for a better shot.

Was at a family reunion a couple years ago.

I also hunt and off-road, usually at the same time... And most of the time we end up scaring off the animals cause we're like "Hmmm, sitting here doing nothing waiting for deer is boring..." *looks at Jeep* "Well, lets go see if we can't find a better spot that no one's been to eh?" "Sounds good..." *causes chaos*.

I used to play Baseball, only sport I played on an orginizied team for, and won first place in our division. Then I'm also an avid weight lifter and working towards becoming a personal trainer.

Beyond that I've never been part of a team but I love to play and am fairly good at: Volleyball (my best sport), soccer, and football. On occasion I play basketball but only being 5'10 I'm no where near decent :-\. I ain't got that jump. I also love to go hunting, biking (off road or trail), and do anything else outdoorsy.

Also, to feed the jeep hardon committee, these are from when I was in staying at the cabin in West Virginia a week or two back:

Its not that hard to hit a tennis ball over the fence.. you need to have control to play.

No, I mean, I've tried getting control. I can't. I've tried hitting it with the same control I had before, when I was decent at it. Now I can't. Anyways, I got bored with the sport after a few years of playing, which was about when I lost control of controlling my hit strength, so I moved to swimming and lacrosse. I'm content with both sports.

(off topic) video games that simulate normal sports like basketball are fail IMO, especially since it's relatively easy to do the real thing in real life. I never play those games, not when my school offers adequate facilities for the real deal (end off topic)

video games that simulate normal sports like basketball are fail IMOYou play a sports video game to take on the role of your favorite player or team and guide them to victory, or make your own and pit them against your least favorite team (and subsequenly wipe the floor with them), not to replace a real world experience. If you have that mentality regardless of if you're bashing it or supporting it, you need to step back and rethink things. The only way you would ever be truly able to "replace" sports is if you create a system like the Matrix where players are put into an unconscious state and their brains are uploaded into a computer where they play it out in there.

What people forget is that video games are supposed to sort of fulfill fantasies that are unattainable to the average schmo, be it playing in the NBA or fighting aliens, and/or pick at your brain.

I'm a distance runner, love to do road races during the spring and summer. I rarely do races during the Winter time because cold races are not much fun at all. While it's cold, I still train and am in even better shape than when the Summer ended after tweaking my training schedule a bit. Although running in -5 degree weather is NOT fun. :gonk:
