I honestly get creeped out by some stuff I see in this world, such as Camel Spiders and Huge ass hornets. Post your scariest animal thread pics. Only post scary animal-related stuff. I don't want to bring it death reaper shit or anything like that, which is why I made this Scary Animals and not scary stuff in general. What animals scare the living hell out of you?

Dinosaur actually.

Scariest Fish in the Ocean.

You do realize they eat plankton, right? Also,

This species, despite its enormous size, does not pose any significant danger to humans. It is a frequently cited example when educating the public about the popular misconceptions of all sharks as "man-eaters". They are actually quite gentle and can be playful with divers. There are unconfirmed reports of sharks lying still, upside down on the surface to allow divers to scrape parasites and other organisms from their torso. Divers and snorkelers can swim with this giant fish without any risk apart from unintentionally being struck by the shark's large tail fin.

Unless this is a joke, in which case :suicide:

T. cerrejonensis was around 13 metres (44 feet) long, weighed about 1,135 kilograms (2,500 lb) and measured about 1 metre (3.1 feet) wide at the thickest point on the snake's body. The fossils of 28 individual T. cerrejonensis were found in the coal mines of Cerrejón (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerrej%C3%B3n) in northern Colombia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombia) in 2009.

they still get pretty fucking big though duder.

me and my mate where out fishing in his little boat (first time ever) and we through out a mullet carcus just for shits and giggles and something took it. it just kept running out with the line till eventually we realized it wouldnt stop (it wasnt sprinting, it was just cruizing as if it didnt even know it was hooked).
so i had to learn how to drive the boat on the fly so that my mate didnt loose all his line, we chased this thing around the bay for about 30 minutes before it just bit through the line and that was the end of it.
no idea what it was but it was fucking big.

and his boss was out fishing one day in his boat (it's a fair bit larger then our little one) and this great white shark spotted him and his boat.
and started circling......
he was out there for 3 hours sitting on top of his esky in the middle of his boat and this shark was just doing oval laps around the boat, he'd swim past the front of the boat then go about 20m's before turning round and coming back past the back, and this just kept going on.
He was fucking terrified because theres rumors that the sound of the engine attracts them to attack the motor and his anchor was out. He was just coasting in a spot, engine off ect.
so when it was furtherest away on one of it's laps he double timed the anchor and got the fuck out of there.

Fuck that.

But the same fishing trip i went out with my mate we got to see the whales migrate up the coast. they where less then 20m's away from us, and until you see a whale like that, you havnt seen a whale.

those things are ridiculously big.

My mom got bit by one of those a couple of summers ago. Nearly died. Whole right arm and up around her shoulder swelled up a ridiculous amount. She looked like when you inflate a latex glove.

Paramedics were really quick and professional and I have no doubt they saved her life.

An astute reader might wonder "wait, she got bit on her arm? why was she letting a snake bite her arm?"
She was gardening. Reached to uproot a plant, felt a prick on her hand, then saw the tail as it slithered away.

So yeah, they're not scary in and of themselves, but it's pretty scary to think they live in gardens in suburbia where lots of little children play in the rocks and dirt...

Yep the record halibut caught in AK was about 650ibs the last time a checked, and was about 8ft. The cool thing about Halibut is that they are born with the two eyes on the opposite ends of it's head, and then one of the eyes migrate to the other side of the head when it starts growing. Heh...they are ugly as hell but they taste good.

Why have a short halibut season here in Oregon too. Never gone personally, but my pap took in a 80 lb'er a couple years back (he was hella seasick too xD). The reason for keeping them is double edged:
1.DAMN tasty meat. It is amazing, especially the way my Grandma fries taht shit up :P
2.Just bringing them to the surface kills them. The sudden pressure change blows their swim bladder or whatever the fuck its called.
I like Ling Cod more, but they are extremely hard to fish for. Tough bastards too. Took a gaff to the brain and kept going xD

my brother Came across a death adder last night :awesome:

he happened to piss in the hole it was living in, only later to find out that the fluttering of a quail was it being mauled by the snake and dragged into the hole he was just standing at.

good times.

^Does stuff like this always happen in Australia?

I remember when I used to go to Florida in the Summer that these rattle snakes would always sit at the bottom of the stairs by our condo. Good times.

I went outside to get my cat today and I saw bumble bees having a three some. BAD TIMES. :phonegonk:
