Please help if you EVER had this problem!
I dont know what it is, but Evenbalance doesnt help for shit, neither does punkbuster for that matter, it doesnt even catch cheaters!
Anyways, here is the problem I am having:http://www.evenbalance.com/troubleticket/update_ticket.php?ticketnumber=EB2237000388045&password=2636e8c67954f7b900d27fa6b1d163&special_message=new_ticket
The game is Battlefield 1942, Version is updated to 1.6.1B, Punkbuster is also updated. Seeing how EA and Evenbalance do not help, this is my last resort. This version has either fucked up my game for Windows XP, or Punkbuster has some shitty service of a program. Please oh please someone here tell me what the problem is!

What exactly is your problem?
Your support ticket is just you being whiny and crying to PunkBuster..
Describe to us your exact problem and maybe one of us can help.

As soon as I connect to a game, it will try to connect with a Punkbuster server and it will say "CONNECTION PROBLEMS DETECTED" and it will make me lose connection to the server. I cant connect to other servers that arent using punkbuster for some reason either. All I get is "Failed to connect to server".
Every other game works fine on this PC except this one, and it used to work, and I dont know why it doesnt now all of a sudden. My drivers are up to date, all my drivers do not have errors because I double checked that. There is no firewall running and no Anti-Virus running while I play the game.
Does that sum it up?

Try creating a spare partition on your hard drive, with the same OS you have now, and see if it still has the problem, if you do, it could be your isp.

Dude you're so fucking annoying.
Seriously, if it detects connection problems, then that's the fucking problem. You even said so yourself that you can't even connect to servers not running Punkbuster or whatever the hell their anti-cheat protection is.
So fix your connection.

Punkbuster is a joke, don't play in games that use it.

or Punkbuster has some shitty service of a program
This.
But seriously, I had issues connecting to punkbuster servers (on CoD 4) until I found out I had to have their background process running, "PnkBsterA" or "PnkBsterB", something like that. At which point I gave up on the game.

Its supposed to be both running. I also figured out that they cant help me, because I do not validate for support because of my location and ISP. So fuck them, and fuck the game. I will just play Halo

I think I figured out the problem. Punkbuster isnt even in the Win32 folder like its supposed to be, so where would I get it? [EDIT: Should have clarified]
The program that is supposed to be running, which is pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB, isnt in the folder and is nowhere to be found on my computer. I would also like to know where to uninstall and reinstall punkbuster. Is it in the Patch?

Reinstalling 1942 and Punkbuster at the same time might do it, like Bacon suggested.

1. Uninstall the game completely.
2. Uninstall PunkBuster completely.
3. Install the game.
4. Manually update PunkBuster with their updater.
5. ???
6. PROFIT! Play!
That solves all my PB problems all the time.

find and download the latest version of pbsetup.exe on the net. Run that, select your game, and update. That should solve your problem. I've had this issue before too.
