Everything in here is finalized. I highly doubt there will be bugs found in this, but if nothng major is found, this should be out in the next few days.


Ded is up and running playing this map only for the next few days. So come join. And remember, don't re-distribute this beta, especialy to that annoying Stealth character.:suicide:

Meh, Beta just means non-stable (edit: and feature complete) build. RC just means Release Candidate. You can have a non-stable release candidate. Hell, according to EA, you can have a non-stable release.

Lol pooky those were some fun matches we played, I think that MA5K reload needs to be faster, maybe given a zoom for the range it can shoot x.x. And also move back warps, and in gametypes such as Slayer and King, damn, move the spawn points away from the center so we don't keep getting spawn killed.

The MA5K's HUD Ammo Bar doesn't move until it's at 38 ammo from 45.

When the MA5K Runs out of Ammo, the Ammo bar still contains a bit filling, as if there's still ammo. AR does same thing. Even though they both are reloading.

AR is WAAAAAAAAyyyy tooo accurate.

Frags need a tone down. Plasma are okay with a little less tone than the frags.

I would post pics...but, I feel lazy right now.

... I don't see either of those things as bad. In the 2 hours I've played the map everything except the MA5K felt perfectly balanced. HDoan got nade kills on everyone like crazy. they're fine. I found one thing that really bugged me though.

The Spiker reticule is WAY off center, I fired some MA5K shots then switched to the spiker without moving to demonstrate.

a change on spiker crosshair alltogether? cause, I don't like it....but, that's my opinion, when I first looked at it, I thought "oh, it's that crosshair from that turret, just twisted a litttle more, how cheap"

maybe something a bit more fit for a spiker that you know with tear the crap outta people?....Maybe it's just me.

Well, if you look at the crosshair on the laser, it's just a portmanteau of a bunch of other crosshairs. I just wouldlike it centered.

The spiker doesnt fire a the center of the reticle, it's not totaly acurate. Same thing would happen with smg.

AR Reticle too small, Cornflake Rocket explosions, and thats about al i can see, oh wait, my texture around the walls of the bases, needs it's bump height adjusted ;) (unless you can't do that in HEK, wich would be pretty silly)

Found another bug, this with the MA5K. Unless you completely empty your clip, there's no sound when you pull the bolt back

Also, when firing the laser into ice, it doesn't make a mark. Shouldn't it? EDIT- also no mark when hitting snow. It's a super hot beam of light firing at ice...

When firing BRG nades into ice, it sounds like a water splash? I believe this was also reported by people playing Icy Swamps.

Pistol doesn't make bullet holes in the snow either. Actually, so far, nothing has made bullet holes in the snow.

Recoil for the battle rifle is a little late. It pushes back after the rounds are shot. Btw for plasma grenade I think you should keep it to the electricity/plasma instead of the blast lines in the explosion.

I don't know why, but it's still laggy for me on my copmuter. when I shoot the MA5K in the base, or anywhere for that fact, It seems to encourage the lag that's already there a little bit, and look out from the base, I still don't know why, I get real laggy. just, the map n general is laggy, just like the old CMT Grove was...

The animations for the MA5K need to be improved. For one, when you reload, I can tell you don't end up with the origins at the end of the animation (and if it does, it doesn't look like this). Having this there makes it look smooth. Another thing is that the hand(right hand) shakes on a single frame when you reload. By shake, I mean it moves to a wierd place and back to where it was. This is an unfortunate side effect of something executed in the animation making process most times.... just make sure you fix it, it bothers me alot =p.

I know it's a bug in all Halo CE maps/ingame UI's, but it'd be good to fix. Possibly move "CMT.H2VISTA.NET" to the bottom right/left corner of the pause menu aswell?

Edit: I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen, but BRG nades don't affect hogs?

No, it is made from ripped h2 content, and will not be used in our mod. The only map it will be is CMT_immure, which is just a version of nuero's map with our content.

We arn't doing backpack for the mod, because it is not considered to be important enough to take efforts away from SPv2. If someone outside the team we trust will do it, well, then we'll let them do it, but we have a deadline (may 8th) to have spv2 out. And if it's not ready by then, well, I know I'm jumping ship and not returning to H1 until xbox co-op is possible.

Seriously, working to a deadline like that is not going to do any favours for the release. If it's even half as buggy as some of the RCs (which is pretty likely if you're rushing to get it out by then), I wouldn't even consider it worth downloading. Really, why? What difference does it make in the end? There's no need to rush to H2V because not everyone will be getting it the first day it's out and leaving CE for dead the second H2V hits shelves strikes me as a really, really bad idea.

He's right. I do it in coag. The hog warps as if its going to tumble then warps back to a straight path. Personally I find this irritating.:confused2:

I could do the back pack mod, though no one in CMT really knows me so you probably don't trust me. @ rossmum, I agree. Deadlines allowing no time = not even worth making a mod. However, deadlines aren't all bad. Also, I know I'm not getting H2V right away. In fact, I probably will not get it within a year of its release date. I will be stuck with halo ce, and getting a decent SP mod would be nice. Anyway, for the backpack mod... I made my own (using L33T's source files and script for reference, thanks man) for the halo 2 biped. Here are some pictures:

I don't think we will be. In SP it's pretty much a horrible waste of space cause the only time you'd see it is if you were dead, or on a vehicle. There's no way to justify Backpack mod in SP.

In MP, it might be possible but probobly not realistically going to be put in. Too much unneeded work for it, then it also wastes tag space. I donno, if this'll be done either, and I doubt it.

It's just like the glits and glammer you've put in to making the AR shiny, all that good stuff, it's the same concept you guys are using, just for a backpack mod. That means, you guys made everything more shiny because you thought it would look cool/nice. Well, why not add a backpack mod to make it even more cooler/nicer?

That means customizing the backpack mod to hold the CMT weapons instead of the defaults.

How can people get bored of the weapons so quickly? Why would CMT weapons become boring and not stock weapons? Our weapons are designed to be different and balanced, but not gimmicky, so they should still be just fine. I doubt anyone on the team is at all interested in catering to those types of people.

All it takes is well timed shots to kill with the RL, and it isn't hard either. And IIRC, homing rockets lock on to bipeds as well =p. I think the number of weapons is fine, maybe even just over the edge. No way in hell would I like to see any more.

This downloaded fine on my PC, but came up as corrupted, same as all of my downloads, so I tried to download it on my mac, which doesn't corrupt everything it downloads, but when I click the link, the download says "downloaded: 0 bytes of ? - File doesn't exist", which hasn't happened before. Shotgun bug: after it says you have 0 shots in your "clip" (when you're forced to reload due to no shells left in the gun), you can actually fire three additional shots before the game reloads/declares it dead. (There is no sound for these three shots, but they do make imprints in whatever surface you're shooting at.)

You might want to say the same thing about the sniper rifle. Gradualy, all weapons that go on the back will have ready animations of the MC unslinging them.

I thought that to thoroughly beta test a map, you had to try to challenge everything that could happen during that game, not just play a random game and say "wasn't that fun". I was therefore investigating the effects of different things on the map. I found that out on a LAN server with just me playing. So I would not personally do that when playing a game, but some may.

A few bugs: the Spartan doesn't leave a black decal mark when fired on the walls inside the base. It also doesn't leave any steam or mark at all when fired on the ice in the middle of the lake. Btw in third person the Spartan Laser is held at like a 45 degree angle.

What do you mean not working?I mean that the tutorial I saw on how to use it said that it copies the screenshot to your clipboard, which you can then paste into a window, but that did nothing. Also, there is no "screenshots" folder in my Halo CE folder.

EDIT: great. Nothing will open it right. How do I convert it to jpg or something like that? I'm surprised Windows doesn't have a more universal screen capture function. Mac has Shift+cmd+3. That takes a picture of the screen, no matter what you're running, and puts a png right on your desktop.

Now for suggestions and stuff about the map:

-The MA5K is supposed to be a stripped down version of the MA5B, not a completely new weapon with a brand new reloading scheme, if I remember correctly from the books. However, I realize it's already been modeled and put ingame, and that there's nothing that's going to be done about it. I'm just saying.

-The MA5K does not have a rotating barrel that needs to spin up. Keep the rate of fire static.

-This always bugged me: The magazine on the Spiker is nowhere near large enough to hold all of those. I suggest you update it to the drum version mounted under the receiver, as shown in Bungie's recent quicktime thing (http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/3/b/13ba0977-9968-4232-a19c-7fd285e8a97f/spikefinal.mov). It should probably have a lower ammo count for the magazine, and a wee bit more accuracy to compensate.

-Fix them sounds. I see you already have fixed the SMG's. It's so annoying when a sound carries at the same volume for great distances, don't you think?

-You might want to update the textures on the easter eggs in the pits. Just in case someone decides to go spelunking with deathless on.

Usually I just skip that step and go right to the askin'. It's the better way to find out what's the best thing, as opposed to what all of them are. You have to admit that. Besides, trying to find something without knowing exactly what terms to search for is a bitch. Now, back to my original question.

Oh, and one more gripe: The ironsights need to be the other way around. V goes in back, ^ goes in front.

Also, all the maps could use an FOV increase. It just looks better, and puts the stocks of the guns in more accurate positions relative to where the shoulder is.

Have you looked at the book's cover? It shows what the MA5K looks like.

You can't tell where it's coming from because it sounds like it's in your damn hands. Same with the ghost's guns, the warthog chaingun, the shotgun, and until snow grove, the frag grenade. A bunch of the sounds have no diffusion. It's like projecting a solid sphere of equally audible sound around you for a certain distance. It's like being able to hear someone whisper from across the room at the same volume that the whisperee is hearing it.

Just like Masterz said, it does what all scripts do: run the map properly and activate certain elements (like weapons, explosions, etc.) at the proper times. (yes, I know that tags are also responsible for some of these things)

I should slap you for that statement alone. Thoroughly beta test everything before you go LOL RELEASE.

It's not an release candidate until you think you've ironed out all of the bugs btw. Stick to naming it as a beta until you get a green light from ALL of your testers.

Trust me, if someone on the team hates everything cranked out, they gtfo. A modding team consists of people who share the same interest and want to see the same final product.

Rushed, unanalyzed releases are what caused H2_Coagulation. :gonk:

That also gets me thinking of CMT_Coagulation. The map's lighting left something to be desired, and the sounds carried halfway across the map, as I've mentioned before.

I undeleted your post becasue I think it needs adressing.

Back in those days, we were still learning and understanding the HEK. I don't just mean CMT, I mean EVERYONE. The map while buggy and unfinished, is remarkable for its days. Few maps, other than h2ce, had custom anims like it, or netcode twisting chain spawns, or destroyable vehicles, and back then there were no scripts. There is alot of neat stuff in it, stuff I still use today and refer to. So before you complain about H2 Coag, just remember CE was a very differn't place 2 years ago.

I thought he was referring to CMT coagulation, not H2_coagulation. I got them mixed up. I deleted it for a reason. But, I'll edit the post so it makes more sense. I see your point now. H2C is still a fun map. I haven't played it on this PC yet, but I played it a couple of years ago at a friend's house.

2 years ago it was awesome, strider had just been banned and we were progressing as a community, until something happened amongst the users.
