So I was playing Halo 3 today and pressed back from the matchmaking and got some pop up saying something about Mythic map and get it now and other stuff. I got courious and check it out. Well It didn't work, so I looked more into it. It talked about a code for the Mythic map or some BS. I don't want to look it up anymore so i was wondering if anyone can give me a quick summary on what the Mythic map pack is and why it is so special and how I could get it and I'll came back to ya. Thanks!

MLG and some other places are handing out free Mythic Map Pack codes in contests, Bungie did too, but most of the contests are over now anyways.

I went to Gamestop to pre-order Halo Wars. I pre-ordered Halo Wars. But not the Limited Edition. So I went back the next day to cancel the reservation for a different one, and the guy behind the counter accidently put the original 5 dollars deposit on Halo 3 ODST.

So now I am going back tommorow to exchange it for the Halo Wars Limited Edition.

PROTIP: The cost of the map pack is going to be much less than the cost of Halo Wars. I doubt you'll get very much back for Halo Wars once it's been opened and it's missing the code. I bought the Limited 2-disc Collector's Edition of Halo 2 from a GameStop for about $35 used, when I sold it back to them later because I hated it, they only gave me like $10 or $15, as it was open and I had used the free LIVE card inside.

And yeah, offer expired apparently. WTF is up with the date? O_o

After Halo Wars LCE hits retailers, your wait won't be too much longer than the span of time between the Gettysburg's departure for Earth to warn of the Covenant invasion and Regret's slipspace jump out of the skies above New Mombasa. Afterwards, you'll be able to plunk down 800 Marketplace Points for your very own copy of the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3.


Those of you who are familiar with the details of the Halo story will know that the Gettysburg left for Earth September 13th, and the Prophet of Regret made his slip space jump on October 20th. That creates an estimated five weeks between the release of Halo Wars and when the map pack will be available on the Marketplace. Considering how most releases are on Tuesdays, there is a strong possibility for the pack to be available for download on April 7th.

played the Mythic maps on the Halowars playlist on H3 today , it was ok but abit laggy , Swat on Sandbox is pretty annoying depending on the layout of the map , Assembly is fun , aslong as you dont get a server where all the people are trying to get the Hammer achivement , it always spawns in the middle so everyone rushes that point :/ , and Orbital , well that would have been fun if it was not for the lag.

I dont know why but Orbital just does not seem good so far, i would prefere it if there was an actual CTF varient on the Halowars playlist , there probably is , but i have not had the chance to play it , and as for sandbox , i still find forge awfull to use , they have the grid squares but no option to snap the objects onto them making them all but useless unless your measuring stuff exactly , and even then , that takes alot of time.

I just downloaded them. i'm getting barely any lag since there's a lot of Aussies on this time of day. SWAT on Bungie's Tundra variant of Sandbox was pretty meh but CTF on Orbital was bloody fantastic. Haven't played a proper game of Assembly yet.

Sandbox is fantastic for forge. Definitely lives up to the e-hype. Been working on 2-Fort in the sky bubble :D

In order of how hard things are to get here goes ...

Assembly skull , easy to get
Orbital skull , easy to get
Sand Box skull , hard to get

All require forge as i got them all today :)

Just camp. Have shotty and use the combo (shoot and melee). It also works with the brute shot as well (I perfer it better than the shooty)

Your right, Brute shot you CAN do that combo but it hurts your shields too so if someone comes they can just hit you with a BR

Trust me , try and find them without any aids , its fun , we had a blast trying to find the one on orbital , we where looking in the right place , just not in the right direction , as for Assembly , that one was just pure luck , and Sandbox ... well ... that one obviously required a tutorial to get it , though it was fun getting over to it , i have the map saved that i used to get it if anyone wishes to get it the easy way when they have the maps , you dont have to use it , just putting it out there for the people that want them that badly.

Seriously for Sandbox , its a bitch , we had to build a tunnel (Mainly my effort as i built the entire thing) and i had to build "blockers" shields that stop the damn guardians from shooting you , at first we used energy walls , but then we changed it to obelesk pieces cause they where bigger and heavier.

Inside a tunnel , running along having gun fire going off all around us , it was like Halo Wars all over again but from an FP perspective.

Only way of describing it , would be imagine about 4 gauss hogs constantly firing at your position , and every time you move , they know where you are ..... it was crazy.

Once I passed level 10 in skill level I stopped using it and everyone I played against in matchmaking stopped using it. Most games I don't even see it touched on Epitaph and Guardian. The only time I see it used is when I BR or shotty own a noob running around with it in rats nest on team DLC.

Any weapon is good when you ambush someone. When I want to ambush someone I just camp the corner with a shotty or mauler.
