I wanted to know, because I don't want to have any problems while using it. I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. I was also wondering if the Bluestreak plugin would work correctly? Or would tool flip out when I use it?

Depends, you can use 2009 to model. Then export an fbx or 3ds into Max 8 to export to Halo. I do believe 2009 supports Bluestreak, but you should be able to use Blitzkrieg with Max 8 also.

Someone should make a Blitzkrieg extension that works for 3ds Max 9-2010 >:V

IMO, Max 8 is perfect. Well, for what I use.

-.-'

So I really have to get Max 8 or 7 for that matter?

Get 2009. I don't know why people complain about bluestreak. It works perfectly.

Bluestreak doesnt export animations.

Blitzkrieg is still an essential in modding.

Bluestreak exports models fine. CAD made a script to export animations. No excuses.

Bluestreak exports models fine.
Ive had occasions where my map models were inside out with that, thats the only model problem i had with it

3ds max 8 will most likely give you trouble on vista, your better off using max 9 and up. Bluestreak will work fine with any of them afaik. I guess that's pretty much the end of that discussion....

Max 8 works fine of my computer. You need to install the service packs to get it to work.

Use whichever modeling package you feel like; if you really wanted to you could use something free, so long as it has support for .3ds. You'll need to find someone that has a copy of max 8, 9, whatever to export it the game for you. 3DS Max is a very expensive program and I'd recommend taking a look at free stuff first.

Bluestreak gives non-existent open edges.

So what should I use? Blitzkrieg or Bluestreak?

Preferably blitzkrieg , but its only works up to max 9

but if you do any biped rigging, go for bluestreak

Bluestreak does work. Those of you with your non-existent open edges just need to triangulate your mesh before you export. Convert to editable patch and then convert it back to editable mesh/poly.

Bluestreak works with Max 9. Blitzkrieg doesn't. Animation exporter doesn't work, since you can't use Blitzkrieg, but ZTeam's animation exporter works.

Guess what we have been doing since bluestreak came out.
exactly that

I never had any problems using bluestreak that weren't my own fault somehow. Now that it exports regions, blitzkrieg or max8- isn't ever needed
What version you choose will also effect your file sharing ability. See this here poll (http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8771) about which versions others are using.

It comes with the HEK

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\blitzkrieg\MAX5 and read the readme file

or you could download it at halomaps.

The one that comes with HEK only supports Max 6-7
The one on Halomaps also supports Max 8

Max 9 with Blitzkried fails. I deleted it from the folder because it crashes my Max 9 on startup.
