Basically this map is a forerunner pit, with more win. Theres a few bugs I need to tweak so there isn't a release yet. Anyways discuss the eye candy.

Thanks to HDoan for ze pics.
Also I plan to make a new sky where im going to add some forerunner towers, and some mountains. Theres also a few uvw errors, mainly due to all the fixing I had to do to get the model ingame, those will be fixed.


ALSO I DONT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE TEXTURES, there all danes :)

It looks like you are trying to stay exactly true to the Pit weapon layout. Remember, you can't duel-wield in Halo CE, you only need one Plasma Rifle there, not two.

Redo the weapon layout to what you think is balanced for Halo CE. This is a different game, so it needs a different layout.

Edit: Also I love how in most of those shots HDoan has either just killed you or is about to kill you.

The weapon placement isnt final, that wasn't really a game play test it was a "lets take pics of grunt getting killed test" and I will be using a new set of of revamped h1 weapons.

I like everything but the textures, the sky is badass though, it kind of reminds me of Red Faction II, and I really don't know why..

Grunt told me its a prison.

And captus means:
1. seized, taken, having been seized.
2. occupied, having been occupied.
3. held, contained, having been held.

Looks nice actually. Bit boring though. Add some moss and stuff like CMT did with "Hang em High" I think it was. Unless that was the flood styled one.

Well, what im saying is, he is kind of going for the look of Warlock, not like the map, but the textures and things.

IMO, add plants.

The map refuses to export if I add anything else in it, dunno why. But yea Im trying to add a few more things as scenery. and if theres anything you recommend I add please tell me now.

Looks a bit cluttered, open it up some more. The textures are looking really flat and bland too.

Really reminds me of a Mayan Temple or something with that sky, especially in the third picture down.

I the style your going for with the textures. Obviously Danes are just placeholders, but try to keep that style, and night sky. Its entirely up to you, but I really like that theme.

how big is the map exactly? big as BG or small as BC?

Well, for one, I would've made it look more like forerunner architecture than a retextured pit. I mean, yeah, you've got some sloped things jutting out of the walls but that's about it.

Use some strip textures ( like the ones that are already in seclusion, brosef) to highlight the geometry more; it's kind of hard to read the map with everything in such similar colors and no defined lines.

Seriously, it's currently a pretty massive visual clusterfuck.

i agree with some earier comments, textures look a lot like warlock from halo 2.
looks a little blocky (flat surfaces, sharp corners) and i think it needs h2 / h3 weapon set

Needs a classic weapon set, and it needs a retexturing to make it more interesting. Right now it is bland, and the maps blends in with itself.

Look at Cold Storage for inspiration for your textures.

Everything is way too busy. try making the textures more simple, leaving small details to the specular maps/detail maps.
Also, try to match up the lighting to the sky.

I say use standard forerunner textures and make it snowy. Have like little piles of snow everywhere and stuff.

Yhea I have snow scenery now in alot of the areas, theres a new weapon set it a revamped h1 weapon set created by nugga117

Pretty much what everyone else said, also what are you putting in the sword room?

Oh and shaders and lighting could help a lot at making everything less bland.

You know how most of the Halo 1 Forerunner maps have red and blue lights accenting different parts of the map, to show which side you're on?

you need some of those (unless that's what strip textures are, lol)
