YouTube is blocking all premium music videos to UK users after failing to reach a new licensing agreement with the Performing Right Society (PRS).
Thousands of videos will be unavailable to YouTube users from later on Monday.
Patrick Walker, YouTube's director of video partnerships, told BBC News that the move was "regrettable".
Steve Porter, head of the PRS, said he was "outraged... shocked and disappointed" by YouTube's decision.
In a statement, Mr Porter said the move "punishes British consumers and the songwriters whose interests we protect and represent".....I'm pretty appalled with the way its being handled like the article said, why should consumers suffer? And what may this lead to, tv shows? movie trailers? Video games? The list could go on.

Being an American, I find it shocking that the head of the org Youtube was trying to partner with is disappointed. If Youtube was doing this with the RIAA, RIAA would prabably be all "yase."

This is kind of ridiculous in my opinion, because they still haven't cracked down on companies such as Limewire, Frostwire, etc for distributing Copyright material. If the company is based in another country, and their copyright laws aren't the same, then there is not much the US can do about it.

If I'm not mistaken those can't be targeted because it's the users using the peer to peer aspect and not limewire distributing it, and when you get limewire it makes you click the thing that says I will not use this program for illegal means.

Further, they are simply Gnutella clients, and due to the way Gnutella networks work (direct connection between you and someone else), they can't be convicted of anything.
