I have the first generation of that 4850. Good thing, too, because I don't have room for a two-slot GPU
Awesome story

Abdurahman
March 16th, 2009, 08:15 PM
Well I had the same proc as him and when i upgraded from socket 939 to socket am3 i tried booting into XP without a reformat and it worked fine! Then I reformatted and installed the free copy of Vista Business that my college gave me.

Mate's brother got a similar upgrade, all he had to do to fix his was switch the monitor on his PC with that on the family PC. Apparently his couldn't handle the video card or something, heh.

Whats with the crappy wrap on the box? Looks like someone rushed and folded cardboard around the thing and put tape all over it.

Ah yes pixels I love pixels
The box looks like it was from an XFX product.

It did download like a bad horror film. =P
Nice upgrades but, bsod ftl. "Irql not less than or equal to" sucks, usually a driver issue. I still get one from time to time for no reason on vista.

Wait, what? Usually that BSOD is related to the driver of the device, not the device itself. Are either of those two upgrades broked in any way you know of?

Just so you know my computer is actually fine - I just BSOD'd three times because of me trying to install Vista 64bit Asus MTP drivers on Windows 7 64bit.

Yea seriously, loaded instantly for me!
Anyways, make sure to bench that with 3dMark06 and Super Pi for us!

Apparently something wrong with your network card/port driver. Probably due to a bad driver, or worse bad RAM or bad MOBO port.
Try booting into safemode? Probably wont work...
Abdurahman
March 17th, 2009, 01:28 AM
Super PI will probably get around 27 seconds. 3dMark06 will get around 12,000 points if he's lucky. The CPU score will be under 3000 points.

I'd love to see you OC that sucker up that high...4.5GHz on both cores. Also what game is that for? It says you failed, and yet you have a 4870...
Pyong Kawaguchi
March 17th, 2009, 09:04 PM
It was on H2V, I'm running on Winxp
Shows the cpu rate speed for only a few game too, quite odd imo.
@ Timo: You might want to go test H2v playability at http://canirunit.com I wonder if yours is rated at 9.0ghz too hmmm...
Cortexian
March 18th, 2009, 05:06 AM
Apparently canirunit.com is a piece of shit that doesn't actually give accurate readings. I ran the H2V test on my server (Celeron 1.72GHz, 1GB Ram, ATI X800 All-In-Wonder) and it got a pass rating. I also ran it on this PC and it said that my graphics card had THREE GIGABYTES of graphics memory, I loled.
Also, rated at 9.0GHz? I loled.
