I figured that it would be cool to see people's real world Crysis performance benchmarks while using the benchmark build right into Crysis itself. Crytek included two three different benchmarks with Crysis, and they're automatically installed when you install the game.
The first benchmark is a CPU benchmark that focuses on stressing your CPU by using explosions and physics instead of raw graphics, watch your character go rampant on a town in the first level with some grenades and a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo.
The second benchmark is another CPU benchmark that focuses on stressing your CPU by using explosions and physics instead of raw graphics, watch your character go rampant on a town somewhere in the icy level with a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo.
The third benchmark is a GPU benchmark that does a cinematic fly-through of the first level while recording your FPS and some other information such as Tris/Second and Tris/Frame.
-------------------------------
Running the benchmark:
32-bit:
Navigate to your Crysis directory (usually: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis") and open the "Bin32" folder, inside you should find the following files:
Benchmark_CPU.bat
Benchmark_CPU2.bat
Benchmark_GPU.bat
Run "Benchmark_CPU.bat" and let it run until it stops, screenshot the latest results and post the screenshot here!
Run "Benchmark_CPU2.bat" and let it run until it stops, screenshot the latest results and post the screenshot here!
Run "Benchmark_GPU.bat" and let it run until it stops, screenshot the latest results and post the screenshot here!
64-bit:
Navigate to your Crysis directory (usually: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis") and open the "Bin64" folder, inside you should find the following files:
Benchmark_CPU.bat
Benchmark_GPU.bat
Ignore "Benchmark_CPU2.bat".
Run "Benchmark_CPU.bat" and let it run until it stops, screenshot the results and post the screenshot here!
Run "Benchmark_GPU.bat" and let it run until it stops, screenshot the results and post the screenshot here!
-------------------------------
Troubleshooting:
I receive the message "The system cannot find the file specified." after running the benchmark!
Solution: Modify the benchmark batch file to display the correct information.
Right-Click on "Benchmark_***.bat" and select "Edit".
Find: "..\Game\Levels\island\".
Replace with: "Full game directory\Game\Levels\island\".
For example, if your Crysis folder is located at "C:\Program Files\Crysis" you need to include that in front of "\Game\Levels\island\".
I don't get all four sections of the benchmark listed!
Solution: Let the benchmark run all four times without interrupting it!
I can't find the files in my Crysis: Warhead directory anywhere!
Solution: These benchmarks are only included with the first Crysis game!
-------------------------------
Top 5 "CPU" Benchmarks:
Freelancer - 32.97 + 35.48 + 35.52 + 35.51 = 139.48/4 = 34.87
Top 5 "CPU2" Benchmarks:
Freelancer - 33.35 + 35.44 + 35.39 + 35.27 = 139.45/4 = 34.86
Top 5 "GPU" Benchmarks:
=sw=warlord - 35.40 + 35.51 + 39.48 + 39.21 = 153.31/4 = 38.32
Freelancer - 33.73 + 35.68 + 35.85 + 35.85 = 141.11/4 = 35.28
Results will be computed by calculating the average of all four recorded "Average FPS" scores for each benchmark. Higher is better.
