Hello, i was wondering if there were any way's to use Yelo Battery (The FOV changer) with Halo PC version 1.08. I've herd that you can use a "Version Changer" and a "1.07 exe" to get the job done, im not to smart and neither of these programs, but i'm sure there are some people here that could lend me a hand. Im not asked to be spoon fed, merely to be pointed in the right direction of how to use these programs. I know how to use the "Halo Version Changer" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrAFq9hc0ak] but i'm a lostie when it comes to the 1.07 exe and Yelo Battery, i've used it in the past, but since all the server's are 1.08 it's confusing me :o. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

` Cheers

Install the game.
Patch to 1.07. (http://files.filefront.com/HaloPC107exe/;5035804;/fileinfo.html)
Install the Version Changer. (http://home.scarlet.be/mathy/goemitar/downloads/versionchanger/Strings.dll)
Install Yelo. (http://www12.brinkster.com/bitterbanana/builds/YeloBattery-Release03.rar)
Run Halo.
Use the version changer to join a 1.08 server.
Start Yelo.

I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work at all.

I'd love to have someone patch yelo to 1.08 though. I hate using programs to mount a disc image to not use my disc or actually using my disc. :/

Install the game.
Patch to 1.07.
Install the Version Changer.
Install Yelo.
Run Halo.
Use the version changer to join a 1.08 server.
Change your version back to 1.07.
Start Yelo.

I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work at all.
Changing version while ingame strikes me as a bit of a fatal flaw there, unless this somehow doesn't affect Halo...

Yeah yelo is already loaded once the game is loaded because the client is 1.07... you just change version to 1.08 at menu. This takes your ability to join through xfire and such away though, client is older than the server message.

yeah also version changer fucks up the decals... even if you have it on you don't see them...

Personally, just bug Korn until he gives in and patches it.

That seems like a method that would work, just a few things, how do you patch the 1.07? and do i change to a 1.07 server WHILST in the 1.08 server THEN start yelo? (F7 or something) Thanks a heap man. Oh and if there's a video, could you please link me ^_^

you don't need to change back to 1.07

Heh, I can't get the Yelo console to show up in game even with that little fix on Halo CE. It must be a Windows 7 thing.

you need your halo.exe or haloce.exe to be version 1.07...
here you go.

I have the same issue, no ingame menu, yet my haloce.exe is the 1.07 version.

maybe vista is storing them in the virtual folder... right above the folders and stuff there is something called compatibility files, click on that, and see what's in there. If there is anything delete it because those are just the same things from the normal root folder, idk why but vista creates a virtual folder for some programs and runs certain files form the virtual one instead of the real one, so maybe in the root folder everything is correct but in the compatibilty folder the strings is still the 1.08 verison or the halo.exe is still the 1.08 versoin. Just check it out and report bakc.

I've never heard of this before, what are you talking about? Compatibility files wut.

However, I don't think this is the case because the version changer works, just no ingame menu.

Well here's an example of what I'm talking about.
I'm in a halo pc clan called FUN clan, we make modded maps. Back when I had vista I replaced the default maps with the modded ones. But for some reason blood gulch never seemed to work because it always stayed default. Then one day I clicked on the compatiblity files button that is circled below and I saw that there was another folder for halo pc, and in the maps folder it had a couple of maps one of which was blood gulch. I added the modded version there too and then it worked (you can also delete it as well)

Like I said maybe the version changer does work but inside the compatibility files folder is another haloce.exe (which is verison 1.08 not version 1.07) and because those ones overrride the ones in the root folder the yelo batter in game menue doesnt work because it's loading 1.08 not 1.07.)

The image is too big and I don't feel like doing stuff so click this to see the pic. (http://i44.tinypic.com/2i6ez3p.jpg)

Well like I said, I don't think it's that anyways because when I start Halo CE and use the "version" command it says that I'm using 1.07...

Well it didn't work. I place the .exe in there and nothing. I did find other files in there that caught my attention though.

This was the photo of the Compatibility file folder and what the 2 file in the folder said.

I like how the people that help him or told him about this can't seem to get it working. I'll over write the halo.exe later, right now I'm getting ready for school.

The "HCT initialized!" means that the version changer started correctly. You should be seeing the line "Version changer made by Omega" when you start halo. Do you see it?

If it's working you can open the console (~ key, but first you have to enable the console by placing -console in the shortcut of halo). Then you can enter commands that the version changer will accept. If this works, can you show the output of the command "version" (without the qoutes)?
