So, here's a thread for us to post our manly necessities. Knives, sunglasses, lighters, wallets, watches, etc.

NO TECH, NO AIRSOFT, NO GUNS. This is mostly day-to-day pocket items.

Ray-Ban Aviators, Tanto, Fury throwing knives (one large one small), Hibben set of 3 throwing knives, Swiss Army pocket knife and a magnum-boker lock-back pocket knife.

Horrid camera phone image. This is one of my favorite nonused swords. Controller is there for size reference. It's about 5 and a half feet long. Its just one of my babies. Maybe later I can be fucked into posting my whole collection.

Maybe not a pocket necessity.. but a necessity...

my wallet

a spare hairband

That's all I ever regularly carry around, and all I ever really need, other than tools for work and supplies for school.

You have awakened my inner weeaboo, and he demands to know how much the katana cost. From that flashy saya you've got there I'd say that thing's a piece of shit stainless steel job with an acid etched temper line. If it's lightweight and will hold a bent shape, it's probably stainless, and if you haven't had to maintain it properly (e.g. regular cleaning and re-oiling) then it's probably either said cheapo stainless sword or it's got a thick coating of museum strength grease on it, because otherwise it would have visibly rusted by now. Additionally If you can't sever a young tree's two-inch trunk in one swing (Making a PROPER diagonal cut with a slicing motion and not a chopping motion) it ain't the real deal.

OQ0wmjxYeiE

A side-by-side set of two tatami mat rolls like this takes about the same amount of force to cut through as a human torso.
One is the equivalent of a hip, including the bone.

O hi, how bout sum 55 gallon steel drum (don't do this unless you want to damage your shit)

I have no idea how much it cost, plus my dad got it when he went there on his honeymoon like 20-25 years ago so the prices would be skewed... It does hold bends though, as I just found out by applying a bit of pressure.

Considering 80% of the items in this thread are illegal to have in the UK. I only have a watch lol.

Isnt it illegal to carry them knifes around?

Also I hate knifes even more than guns, your a pussy if you need a knife to fight someone...Then again they are likely to have one to, so you need to protect yourself I guess.

That sucks, but post your watch anyways.

It's legal to carry almost any knife, of any size. If it's a folding blade you don't have to expose it. Fixed blade of any length must be exposed or it's a felony. You can also carry a sword, which I did once, to go get it appraised. Most counties allow for open carry of a hand gun or long gun. Open carry permits you to carry a lethal, unloaded weapon as long as it's exposed.

Also I hate knifes even more than guns, your a pussy if you need a knife to fight someone...Then again they are likely to have one to, so you need to protect yourself I guess.
I've used blades to protect myself, my property and others. Indication that you're carrying a weapon usually cools off a situation, and it straightens people's heads out. A guy was going to bash his girl's face in until I stepped between them and pulled a knife. Similarly, I caught two people breaking into my car, and being outnumbered they may have resorted to violence, but with my knife already out, they ran away.

tl;dr: Any weapon carried in public places is of social benefit when the carrier intends it as a means of public safety. The cops are not a first line of defense. First line of defense is situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and appropriate response when yourself/others are in danger.

Well, I honestly don't have that many knives. I have a green swiss army that's about 3-4 inches long, a generic red Swiss Army as big as the ones before this post, but I do technically own a nicely carved Honduran Knife. It's handle and sheathe are carved to where you see many tropical creatures and plants. Very interesting. Can't a pic though due to me being too lazy or not caring to pull it out. It's a foot or a little bit more long.

But really, I have some old bayonnettes too. One of them is a used german ww2 bayonette, I forget which gun it is meant to attach to. will post pics when I get home, but the original handle cracked and broke off in apparently (says my grandpa who's dad brought it back from his own tour) so instead of nazi insignias, its been replaced with plain wood and brass.

Heh, there was a gang war around the corner from my old high school when I was there. It was a pretty dumb move on their part because the school I go to has it's own police officer stationed in it, he grabbed his M4 (Police Officers now carry M4's instead of shotguns in their cruisers here) and called for backup after the reports of gunfire and they arrested all but two or three of the gang kids (out of 10 or so). It was pretty awesome, except for the kids that saw one of the gangsters get shot. I never saw that, and I suspect it never happened because there was no news about anyone getting shot and all the kids said there was "blood spraying everywhere"...

Haha, my old house was kinda like that, but we had dogs. There are all these half ass gang kids who like to hang out there, and one day they decided to try to break into our house. First thing I hear is the door crashing in. Then dogs barking/growling. Then screaming, lots and lots of screaming. Then my Dad pumping his 16 gauge and yelling. Yeah, it was pretty fucking awesome.

tl:dr version: Snaf lives in the hood.

Seriously snaf you place sounds horrible. Jeez. Theres alot of rapes and murders in the parks where I live, but avoiding them at night/being able to run fast tackles that problem.

There is a ton of break-ins here though, so I'm slightly getting worried.

We have a few fuckwits around here, but nothing that serious. The last murder I can remember within a ten-minute drive around here was about eight years ago, and the majority of crimes are break-ins and armed robberies (where nobody gets hurt). Worst I've ever had was my letterbox knocked off its post by a bunch of random drunks wandering down our street, up in Newcastle one of my housemates had her boyfriend's car broken into parked outside the house and there was the infamous drunken fairy incident, but that was it.
