Anyone been bored and tried it? Downloaded it and it seems a bit better than IE7 I suppose.

Glad they finally added the "Add to Favorites" button back into the fav menu, habbit to try and do that in IE7 but it wasn't there like the previous versions.
Grouped tabs is intersting, nothing really special though. Accelerators could be cool.

Uh, thats about it for what I've seen. I load web pages, look at stuff, download crap. It's a browser.

Started taking too long for tabs to load, so I switched to FireFox.

That said, I could always just downgrade to IE7, but I just like FF too much.

But I must say that I liked IE7 much better then IE8. I never used any of the new features, so they only really got in my way. Also I like being able to read URLs, not this Webpage title bullshit in IE8.

I give IE8 a C-. Looks a little shinier, but it has too many things wrong with it.

About 60% of people online?

IE 8 is harder to use than IE 7, in my opinion, and some of the standards it uses are a little too early in their arrival...page-view errors require compatibility mode being enabled to fix.

I'm curious to see how vast the new Safari 4 is...reviews say it is blazing, but can it match Epiphany?

I dl'ed it so I could make sure that my web stuff works on it. Seems to run a bit faster but overall it's the same old shit. Still use Chrome/FF as my browser.

Lots of people, that aren't into the whole "actually using a computer beyond the basics" type of thing. My friend uses IE. I showed him Firefox and he didn't like it, because he was so used to IE.

I've used FF when I worked for the tech department, used it for awhile before IE7 came out. Personally it didn't really matter much which I use.

Each to his own as they say.

some websites don't quite work properly on firefox, unfortunately. In those few cases, I load up IE. But I don't encounter these issues as often any more. Once I had this xanga blog with some flashy skin and on the first version of firefox the skin appeared totally screwed up, so I had to use IE to access the blog properly.

I hated IE7 because it was too damn slow, but at school I'm forced to use it because the computers have deep freeze and thus if I dl firefox onto school PCs it gets deleted upon restart.

I'll check out IE8 if it really offers any improvement.

Welp, there are easy ways to get around that; Get portable firefox (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable) and keep that on a flash drive/iPod/whatever.

TBH, most of the broken websites and stuff that people are attributing to firefox are caused by IE's horrifically bad web standards support; sadly, because MS has a majority of the browser market people build their pages with support for it only and as a result some pages look ugly in other browsers that follow the W3C standards correctly.

Sure, for basic stuff IE is ok, but Firefox and Chrome are not only much more secure but they are generally much faster and lighter. IIRC, IE7 had laughably slow Javascript support and IE8 isn't much better. Not to mention the fact that IE is tied to Windows and is a bitch to remove. I haven't tried removing IE8 or any version for that matter, but from what I have heard its a nightmare...

I know that, I just have a bad habit of leaving my usb drive at home :(

I downloaded IE8 onto this school PC I'm using right now, doesn't look very smooth so far. IE7 has a nasty habit of freezing.
