CMT/H2CE server up

Okay, my UT2K4 maps aren't getting too many hits so I'm gonna swap out my dedi for something that people will actually play. At the moment I'm setting up the init for a CMT/H2CE server. It will include v2_fragment, Snow_Grove, New_Mombasa, and Zanzibar (updated versions).

The server will be banfree. No Rcon.

Suggestions? (excluding maps)

If this is a fully unmoderated server and you're not taking map suggestions, there's really no point in asking about settings. I mean, all you set up is the mapcycle, server name/maxplayers, and teamkill penalties.

Alright, I'll just use some basic settings. Typical CTF, friendly radar, no teamkilling, 45 minutes, 5 flag caps.

If this server doesn't get too populated, I may just do a 24/7 banfree single map..

and IF you are selecting zanzibar, can you do zanzibar with the classic weapons?

Yeah cause CMT/H2CE did that map!

Portent is a great map, yes, but wasn't done by H2CE or CMT.

Additionally, it seems that the shader put on the flags in the map causes people with certain video cards to exception.

Might as well do that, too, since most of the player base thinks that CTF is the only gametype Halo does.

Nah but if you do, do this then the only cmt maps I want to see in there is icy swamps. It's under appreciated and it's very good for sniping gametypes.

I was in the server today m00kz you were there but probably AFK...so i left, wnet to ranger's talked to a few ppl and tried to go back to your server...said the server was closed

you can have one person in a dedi on one map...someone won't have it so they go download it...then they join and play with that inital person...more people see this...etc...etc...

THat's what I had to do to my server and it's somewhat popular now. I'm still getting the custom maps gametypes right and when that's done it will be a mix of both custom and regular maps. Plus with abyll's app it you can change the map setlist at will with one simple rcon command.

But yeah I vote icyswamps.

fragment is fun, tensity, mombasa lags me to hell and back...
