I approve of this, gets rid of mIRC, MSN, GTalk and AIM off of my system tray ^_^. Nice and simple too, not all cluttered like msn is. Only thing small thing I have with it now, is that next the names of people in tabs are small avatars, instead of just a little orange/blue dot. Anybody know how to change it?

I've never used pidgin, so I can't compare differences, but you can find pidgin vs. trillian astra topics...There are some debates on those two.

I've always used Trillian, so I'm biased towards it. I've always liked the interfaces, and it does what I want it to do. I've used pidgin a couple times and it just wasn't the same. If you're happy with Pidgin, I can't really give a reason as to why Trillian is better, besides the shallow fanboy stuff.

The only problem I have with Trillian is the Basic/Pro thing. The things they lock you out of when you don't go Pro is kinda dumb, like MetaContacts (taking a bunch of people and putting them under one contact, like if you have screen names for the same person across multiple services) and animated emoticons. vOv

Didn't know I could do this. Glad I only had to pay $10 for pro so I can animated LOLs and :party: and :dance: and :omfg: etc

Choose Add, then hit New MetaContact, then add any contacts you want to it.

Also to the few people that have added me I think Trillian declined your request even though I pressed accept. I can't see any offline contacts for astra even just after adding you.

e:nevermind when someone i've just accepted talks to me I get the option to add them to my contacts list.

Wait he's actually right. What I told you before was to just remove the name completely, that won't work. Try actually changing it to something else.

Go Prefrences > Identities and change your Trillian Astra name from Eric to whatever.
