Considering some Investments

I'm considering buying a new mouse and tablet, and maybe even a keyboard.

I have a black Wacom Bamboo tablet (6 x 4; haven't measured just guessing) that gets the job done texture wise, but I wanted to know if there were advantages to the various features more expensive models give (besides being able to change opacity, size of brush, and other semi-obvious advantages). I'd also like to get some recommendations on a comfortable pen. I don't need anything too fancy.

As for the mouse, my dell optical mouse, I've gotten used to lifting it about a cm off the table while moving (the pads got destroyed from the 2+ years I've used it), but I'd like to go into college with a nice, ergonomic mouse that isn't too expensive (I'm not spending 40 bucks on a mouse; maybe 25). I'm thinking something like this.

Honestly, the best mice cost upwards of $30. I tried to keep with mice that had at least 1600dpi, since large screens are easier to navigate with a higher dpi mouse and game turning is snappier for twitch shooters.

Pretty much anything that uses a laser will work great as a mouse - I personally like Logitech's stuff but Razer makes some nice stuff too. 2000 DPI is the minimum I'd recommend.

Keyboard wise - Go with something like this (http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/keyboards-mice/8396/). Anything with mechanical switches is the best route to go - those are amazing to type on.

I have a Model-M, which is awesome. I just don't know if my roommate (be they a boy or girl) would appreciate *click* *click* *click*.

As for the mouse, I think I just need something that is ergonomic because I use the mouse more for editing code/geometry than gaming. I usually just turn up the sensitivity during a game if it isn't sensitive enough.
