Dogs Vs Cats - Which is the better Pet?

In response to Neuro's thread theres some heated debate about Which is the better animal.

so i say LET THE PPL DECIDE!

Personally DOgs own, There loyal, they WANT to be around u, there obediant and there just fucking awesome company.

cats suck, the "rubbing on your legs" habbit they do isnt a sign of affection, it's a sign of ownership cause they Rub Scent glands onto u. There arrogant, Distructive, Have no Loyalty, and only really "talk" to u if they want something.

And b4 u say "cats are clean, Dogs are dirty" it's a total lie. WE have 2 dogs that live inside and have lived inside for 14 years (there old now ;)) and they are as clean or Cleaner then any cat. Plus we can hand them Bones and Food inside and tell them to take it outside to eat, And they will.

love em both. but, if i had to choose (which i think i have to) i'd pick dogs. reason being, they're cute and loveable when they're pups, and they still are when they become adults. Cats on the other hand, are fun to play with, FOR A WHILE, but then you get bored with them and wish you bought a dog instead.

Seriously, if ever I get another pet, I'm getting another dog. And not a purebred, because every purebred I've ever taken care of was totally nuts in the head. My dog is a comical screwup (weiner dog with a Border Collie's coat and one blue eye, one brown eye) and she's awesome.

In my opinion and personal experience, I would go with a dog. A dog is playful at almost all times, while cats want to be left alone when you want to play with them and they want to play with you when you don't want to be bothered. Sure, cats are clean creatures, but frankly they stink up the house with their shit in the box. I mean, you can walk into a house and clearly know if that person has a cat or not. Another thing is that you can have an outside dog for those big dogs or for people that are afraid of having them inside due to breaking of important items, while you cant have an outside cat because it will obviously hop the fence easily.

In a summary, DOGS > CATS.

But thats just my opinion :P

our dogs clean themselves. we generally only need to wash them about once every 1-2 months, adn they dont stink and there not greasy, and we dont take em for walks that much either lol. There Old and They play and ressle with each other :)

I'm actually more of a cat person than a dog person as I like the fact they're calm and mostly quiet. For dogs it really depends on the dog itself as there are some dogs that I really can't stand. But they're both equally very good pets and you can't go wrong with either one of them. :)

I choose dogs because they are a lot more playful than cats and whenever you play with them, you can do a lot more things such as wrestle or play catch. Also, you can get a different kind of dog depending on what you want because dogs come in many different shapes and sizes. But don't get me wrong I also like cats, but I prefer dogs.

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to
disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.

I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending
comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed
in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could
hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was
due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to
use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems
to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has
got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards
regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have
arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
