So let me see if I understand this.

Person A murders Person B.

Person A gets 4 years in jail.

:confused2:

It's not even like it was an accident. He intentionally killed the other guy. How is he not getting more punishment?

Apparently you've never heard the phrase "tried as an adult", and while I have no idea if they actually have it in Russia, it doesn't change the fact that 4 years is no where near enough. And they didn't even charge him on what he did, only what he intended to do, which he succeeded in doing to the utmost extent...

oops,

And yeah, my point was that even for a juvenile, murdering someone shouldn't be a 4-year punishment.

Back in my first year of High School, I added a shortcut to pwned.nl into the Startup folder on every computer in the school.

what kind of judge would give someone only four years for intentionally killing another person? He needs to be kept locked up for life. No parole or any other bs. You need to be a really sick-minded psycho to even get in a fight over a god damned video game. Juvenile or not, he doesn't deserve to be part of this society.

Not really surprising, sadly. I've heard cases all over the world where people get into physical fights and then kill one another because someone messed up another guy in whatever MMO game, blah blah blah. These are the kinds of people who disgrace video games because they only help to reinforce the perceptions of idiotic parents who blame the game and not the individual.

while i agree 4 years is ridiculous, life is just stupid.

what is the point of a prison system if you punish someone eternally or until they die, how can they learn anything or become a better person if they have no way out.
why not just kill everyone that ever made a mistake or a bad judgement call. i'm sure that'll teach em (sarcasm).

Take a life, spend yours thinking about that.
Seems fair to me vOv (assuming it was done for no reason other then fucking CS).

whats the fucking point if you expect these people to never learn anything despite the fact that 90% of all homicides are first time offenses!

god dam it people are you fucking serious buckshits looney as.

Why should you be given a chance to learn if you took another human life? An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind, but at least blind people aren't going to be shooting each other.

Because then you are no better than he is.

Teaching people killing is wrong by killing the killer does not work.

That's because that's an exact quote...unless that was sarcasm, in which case I fail.

Also, murder? Over CS? Minus 5 faith in humanity...

Watch out, you'll get walloped with the dreaded :ignore:

The problem is that there's seldom a black-and-white case, and similarly there's seldom a judge who can see exactly what shade of grey theirs is. People like Ivan Milat should be locked the fuck away for all eternity, but some kid who was brought up badly and actually has some potential of leading a normal life again might only need a few years and some serious rehab. Four years is never enough, though, unless it was justified (self defence against an attempted murder, basically).

TBH, I don't think that should be worth any jailtime. >___>

I agree, same with cases where there were serious mitigating circumstances (someone being abused by the murder victim for extended periods before just snapping). Actually killing someone with no legit reason deserves at least 7-10 in my book (if they're salvageable at all), going up to life if it's pretty obvious they don't regret it.
