Gay marriage has been becoming legal in a few more american states lately with people picking up on the idea that "hey discriminating on a person because of something they have no control over is kinda a douschebag thing to do."
and it's good to have some good news these days what with the depression and the fear of our fellow man, disease and well anything that can be overly hyped to create chaotic delusion among the masses... but i disgress.

This is great news from the states for allowing people to have the same chance at peace and happiness as others have been able to enjoy for so long.
It's taken a long time, too long but it's slowly spreading, now if only australia would fucking get on board.

Iowa, Vermont and Maine i give thanks and supports.
what ever the reason you've allowed people a chance, just a chance at being happy.
It doesnt matter wether it's a title or a million dollars, if it means so much to people why stand in their way.

now if only the rest of the world fucking wizened up we might be on the way to a happier place for all.

zilla.

Progress seems to be in minimal supply these days. 5 states? That should be more.

*glances disapprovingly at California's recent reversion.*

I don't have a problem with gay marriage, if a gay man and a gay women fall in love with eachother I don't see what's the big deal. Heck, they might even make a straight child for all we know.

But yeah, I would expect more than 5 states to have this by now. I mean, even Virginia went democratic in November, so where are all these jesus buffs coming from?

I'm not sure where they're coming from, but the point is that you can ask all you want about unbiased separation of church and state, but it's just not going to happen.

I'm so happy one more state allows gay marrige. I'm really starting to hate California now. My old enighbors were gay and when they legalized gay marrige in CA he called me and told me that his boyfreind had proposed to him, he was at tears.I can't even imagine what it must feel like to have that taken away from them only a few months later.

Well that's 45 more states that need to get with the program.

Ironically Jesus himself never said anything about homosexuality. It's in that same area with all that Old Testament bullshit that says adulterers and divorcees should be put to death :eng101:

Silly Christians fundies, listening to all that stupid crap without even regarding "Judge least ye be judged" which should theoretically seem more "righteous" or "moral" or whatever it is they get off on.

Its happening slowly. This is just how our society adapts to changes. Always has been. I think its because all our leaders are ancient men who's childhood bicycle was chiseled from stone in the great planes, long before their land became our land by way of the louisiana purchase. When they die/retire, and younger more open minded people move into their positions, changes will occur. Of course it could take some time, because usually when an old politician retires, the replacement is only slightly less old.

DC just voted to honor/recognize same-sex married couples that move there, but still have not legalized it. Id think that theyd be the first.

Ironically all (legit) religions are simply a set of moral guidelines - the same set more or less - of which tolerance is a big one. Love thy neighbour, do unto others as you do unto yourself, so on and so forth. Unfortunately, there are idiots in the world who can somehow get "kill anyone who doesn't follow your beliefs to the letter" or "ban things you are scared of" from that, and they're certainly not an endangered group.
