View Full Version : First Game You Ever played?

Just wanting to find out how game savy you guys really are, plus collecting ideas for game ideas.

First game I remember playing was Super Hang On for the Sega Mega Drive.

1994, I was 5 years old and my god I was stunned and played this for hours.

The music in the game was amazing I loved it, also I hated the fact at the start the AI ALWAYS sped off :(

I played it when I was three or so I think, along with the Commander Keen games, and this one 2d futuristic space fighter, that had the same camera as 1942 and the ships that where played as where red and blue, for player 1 and 2 respectively, not sure which for which though.
I miss that game D:
If anyone can find me the name of it, +rep

Super Mario Bros. I was 2.

There's a video somewhere of me beating the first world (first four levels) of SMB while hanging upside down off the couch in my living room and looking at the reflection of the game in the window from when I was like four or five.

Deus Ex.

Was maybe 10 or 11, had no concept of stealth. Shot at the strider on the docks since I thought it was an enemy, and got promptly murdered.

I was like 4 or 5 and my dad hooked up his atari 2600 for us to play. We played some game where we raced either bikes or cars, i dont remember. It froze up like 5 minutes later and that was it for my first gaming experience. It left such a huge impression on me though that I was hooked on video games ever since that moment.

Edit: I think this was the game.

My next big moment in video games would have to be Super Mario Bros. When I was 6 years old there was nothing better.

Next door neighbours had a NES with Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. I was always trying to get them to babysit me instead of the other neighbours or babysitters 'cause then I could play on the NES. I was four at the time. They moved out when I was six and it wasn't until I was ten years old that I got my first console, the Nintendo64. I got to play almost no videogames for those four years after becoming totally addicted on that NES. No wonder I'm a video game freak now.

So I found my Tie Fighter CD (fuck yes), and I'm trying to get it working with DOSBOX, I've got dosbox mounted, cd drive mounted, and the game installed... However when I'm in the game my cursor seems to want to pull down to the bottom right corner of the screen, almost like it thinks there's a joystick pulling bottom-right, but there isn't... Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot possibly remember. I can remember some games I absolutely loved though.

G-Nome(was to young to understand it let alone beat it), Star Wars Jedi knight: Dark forces two (still have the discs, don't know when I bought them, never beat it (still can't beat it)), Shadow Warrior (funny story about that game, I came upon a naked lady hiding behind a waterfall after defeating all the baddies outside. I went inside and proceeded to harrass her by pressing space (which causes your character to say certain things to her, which can be funny). I though it was super sexy (being nine years old or so) but my brother thought I was a pervert. She was covering herself up and had one hand under water.

Suddenly I started taking damage, so I rushed outside to find the baddy. The Waterfall was placed in a pool and there was a rim going around even behind the waterfall, the waterfalls backside had a wall. So I ran around looking for the baddy, runnin behind, around, under, everywhere. I finally ran back inside and discovered that she was holding a pistol and was shooting at me. I put and end to that quickly. I never beat that game and I still want it), some jedi game with multiplayer on the sony PS 1. My friends, my brother, and I played that all the time, beating the story together.

I don't recall what it was called. Some snow mobile racing game for the ps 1, Battlefield 2: modern combat, and mos definitely any Army Men game that came out (I've got the pc game pack on a favorite in my browser that I want to buy, I had Army men 1 and 2 but I lost the first, loaned the second to a friend who promptly lost it or so he says). That's all that I can remember. I played both Shadow Warrior and Jedi Knight DF2 on a demo disc we got from the local base. The demo discs that we got were called Hot Rel, short for Hot Releases. I remember playing those games on the pc at home, I have no idea how advanced that PC was at the time but it played any game we put in there at the time.

Why did my text go italic? I must have typed something wrong.
