That was a wussy-quake. Granted it was the stronger one in the past few weeks, but it was still on the weak side. only a 4.7 magnitude and 10 second duration.

THe '94 Northridge quake was beastly by comparison. Magnitude 6.7 and lasted for twice as long, while having a very high speed in both horizontal and vertical movement.

Yeah but its not anti-shock foundations is it? So the house will still shake and stuff inside gets thrown around.

San Fran doesn't count! When you build your city on garbage and the earthquake causes liquefaction of the ground and it sinks and catches on fire I have ZERO sympathy!

The Sears Tower or it was some other building can withstand an earthquake of an 8.1 magnitude. :O

The Space Needle in Seattle can withstand earthquakes up to and including 9.0, and will also remain standing during a Category 5 hurricane.

Your move :p

We just had another quake come from the same area as the last one. Foreshock anyone? Scary thought of the big one being close creeping in my head!

I have a house in Big Bear that I can retreat to because the earthquake shock won't be felt as hard up there then down in LA county.

We're super safe, have almost no earthquakes, and very little crime problems:smug:

In return we're secluded from the rest of the world, and have to deal with all you cali-fags who work at Intel :suicide: (there headquarters are in my town btw)
