Sucks major ass.
Seriously, my download and upload go REALLY slow after about 3-5 days after rebooting it. Microsoft said it's a DNS error (Diagnose and Repair), and one way to fix it, by searching on Google, is to restart your modem, and if you have a wireless router, then that too.
Problem is, I cannot take this bullshit anymore, I don't want to keep on resetting the modem/router, mainly because I do my Gaming, and then all the sudden: 900 PING IN GMOD?!?!?!
My mom/dad also get lag as well, they can't get emails, all that shit.

Those are choices?
Router: It's Dlink's XtremeGaming Router. :/
ISP: Can't, I do not think I can get ANY others, due to ATAT OWNING the cable lines, meaning that other companys have to rent the lines to use them for customers. I think I am stuck with Bellsouth guys :saddowns:
P.S: DO NOT SUGGEST MOVING OUT OF THIS HOUSE! This house took forever to make, I dont want to leave it. Besides, it is pretty :(

It's funny because AT&T is like the Terminator. It was broken into a million pieces and now it's slowly coming back together. So much for the Baby Bells split in 1984~

Try switching your DNS servers to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_nameserver#Root_server_addresses on your router... whichever is (technically "two are" since you need 2) closest.
Do NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE PROBLEMS... too much traffic to these servers and the internet goes down... entirely... but if your real DNS servers are broken... well... eh... one more won't hurt.

I can use NASA's name servers? For some reason that seems like a bad idea.

Connect your computer directly to your router and see if that fixes the problem first. If it does, then get a new router. If it doesn't...
Then try changing your computer's DNS settings while still bypassing your router. I'd recommend using OpenDNS rather than one of the root nameservers. Either that, or Level3, but I had problems with DNS and Modacity about two weeks ago so I permanently switched to OpenDNS.
If that fails, do a tracert to a website that is giving your problems. There is a great chance that BellSouth has a router that is acting bizarre and is giving you 300+ ms latency. Or, it could even be routing you in a completely obscure way. I know of several instances where ISPs have had this issue, and they only corrected it after being informed by the customers.
^^ Actually, do the last step first.

Bellsouth and AT&T use to be the same company btw >_>
Also I hope you know that this merger happened like 2 years ago....so...where have you been?

If it does turn out to be a slow DNS issue, then as jcap has said, you want to use something like OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/) that does proper caching and updates at an appropriate rate for user-end lookups. The root name servers and other such systems are not meant for users to be running lookups against and you'll get much better service from a service like OpenDNS.
I will say that maybe a year or so ago, my ISP started to bomb because they'd be doing DNS flushes every night at 9PM (and were just generally slow anyway). I switched my entire network over to OpenDNS and haven't had any problems since.
Also, it's AT&T not ATAT...
