I want to get a camera. Not just a camera that takes pictures though, something that can take videos pretty well, and is at least decent with both. I'm mostly looking into something that's Youtube compatible, because that's what I hope to do with it. But, I also like taking pictures.
What I currently have is $70 US, and I don't want to spend it all, but if it's a really good camera I will. My friend has a camera that's directly Youtube compatible, and it'd be cool to have something like that. But if you guys find something better, i'll reconsider.

$70 isn't gunna get you much of a camera. I think the ideal camera for you would be the Lumix GH-1, it's great, but costs alot. All other SLR cameras (the GH-1 isn't technically an SLR) have many issues with video. However, if you don't want/need a top quality camera, go for a nice compact camera. Anything above 6mp, made in the last 2 years is perfectly fine, and more than enough for your youtube needs.

Save it or get a used camera (with the included parts and stuff). =D

Yeah, your not gonna get much of a camera with that amount. Save it until you can afford something nicer. Or get a used one, your choice.
Once you get about 1200 more, get a Nikon D90.

A D90 is a great stills camera, but for video it's still quite limited. So far the leading DSLR in video is the Canon 5D Mark II, which is several thousand dollars. That's why I recommend the Lumix GH-1 instead, it suffers much less from the issues caused by having a reflex mirror like in an SLR, yet still uses SLR-grade lenses. Thus you get the nice low depth of field look that most people pay through the nose to get on a dedicated video system.
Also, though I view it as a toy of a camera, the Nikon D5000's more affordable, has video features and an articulating screen. It's great for beginners, but those who plan to become more serious in photography should definitely consider taking the monetary plunge and buying a D90.
How serious are you, Plague?

You could find a used Flip for around $70 if you look around, but that won't take pictures.
$70 isn't going to get you anything good.

I wonder if $70 is a mistype of $700, because anybody could easily save up $70...
$700 could definitely get you something nice.

It's not a mistype D:
I'll save up then. But what's a good compact camera? Because that's kinda what i'd be looking for.

Just get some cheap point and shoot. Almost all of them do video now, even HD.

Try Aiptek. They usually have good compact Camcorders, and most of them can take decent pictures.

Yeah, I've got a 12 mp point and shoot that takes HD video that cost about 200. Its pretty grainy and doesnt have good edge sharpness though. You could probably find some 6 ish MP one with video, possibly used, for 70$.
