So I download a torrent. All I can say is: What the fuck? I had 98 viruses, all of them split between thr common Trojan/Trojan Downloader to Worm/E-mail(fucking)Trojans. Yeah, ClamWin saves the day, but still. Damn.

To add-on, my computer was sending spam e-mails to every person on the Earth.

Thats a shitload of viruses. Did you not scan the torrent before opening? Use a reliable site?

Anyway if I had that many I'd format because of paranoia, but hey if you're comfortable with your AV that's fine too.

That's not even close. One time my friends mom's computer was acting up. She said it was crashing at random times, being slow, and popups would infest her computer. She had very limited internet access and didn't know what a virus was. So our first instinct was to virus scan. Yeah. We found 11,000 viruses on her computer.

Well they're all gone now, but I still have one hidden somewhere that keeps bringing select pop-ups in that are annoying the hell out of me. One of them says that it scans my computer for viruses.

Shit Frain, what the hell did she do?

Maybe. I'll look at the next pop-up I get of it. It tries to get me to download a disc scanner to scan my computer and doesn't leave unless you manually close it.

The Pop-Ups aren't pronz, it's residential and anti-virus advertising. I can guarantee it's from the Torrent since that's the closest thing to my computer right now. Never download a game from a torrent. Never worth it.

What the hell Heathen? :lmao:

God, I think that's my favorite email. It was always funny, no matter how many times I watched it.

Ouch.

This is why I don't torrent things. The only times I've had serious virus trouble in the last five years were the times where sites I'd had no trouble with suddenly fucked me over (or at least that's how it seems).

I dont believe the virus is causing the popups, probably spyware or adware.

Something's strange with my computer because it's a little bit slower than usual. I did a virus scan with zone alarm and stuff but all i get is a cookie warning but zone alarm deletes it. I tried like 3 scans, but no virus, spyware, or anything bad. I also get these pop ups about anti spyware and some search engine, but i can still run programs and get on the internet.

Maybe it was leaving my computer on for 2 whole days. It could of over heated the processor and made it a little slow.

This is why you have to be carful online. I've always been able to remove malware myself if my AV didn't detect it though.

Your brain is the best anti-malware/spyware/shitware program out there. I've used nothing but the Windows Firewall/AVG Free for years now and I've never been infected with a performance or system crippeling program, or combination of programs.

If there's no means through software to save the computer, try and get automatic hole-formatting installed...

But thats a huge hole in the computer for viruses to go through. Along with bacteria and other germs.
