METT Online (http://www.mettonline.com/default.aspx).
Psychology has always been an interest of mine. So has CI. Thats why shows like CSI, Law & Order and Dexter strike my interest nerve. More recently Lie To Me has really caught my attention. Its a fasinating show and can't wait for next season.
For those of you interested in actually trying to deduce what people are really trying to say, instead of what they want to spoon feed you, the METT thing may interest you. Of course MEs are only the very basic in non-verbal communication, but they're standard across all humans. You can get into more complex expressions (such as hand and arm movements) but they're not baseline for everyone and you could end up drawing the wrong conclusions.
I got a 79% on the pre-test, then I got a 93% on the post-test on the first go. Broken down, it was 100% in all areas, except Angry and Disguest which I got a 75% in both. Sure the 70$ for the online training may seem overpriced, but you can do the training as many times as you want, and I don't think there are many places which can give you the visual training for free, so if you're wanting to learn such stuff, you may not have many free options which give you accurate training.
In the military, being able to read people and break down their thought process, especially some of the more political commands, can really help you survive or turn their political games against them.
If I wasn't programming, I would probably be doing some subset of psychology. Anyway, enjoy.
