...Are you shitting me?
I mean, sure it's awesome that we get another "Super Mario 64" game, but seriously, thats THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE FIRST ONE.
It has the Star bits, same model, same animations (except for added ones, like riding on Yoshi)
And then there is new stuff as well:
Yoshi (yaeh dinosaur!)
New worlds (What did you expect)
New effects (Buttons that turn water into ice, SLIPSPACE RUPTURE via Koopa Air Ship, Slow-mo)
New Cosmic Mario (Great, color mod, he is now a mix between red and purple. Was it called maroon?)
Seriously, why.
Don't get me wrong, it looks like a cool game, but the first one said pretty much all it needed to say.
Now they are milking the series all together.

This.
Although, maybe the giant hole they've dug themselves into will finally collapse.

If only it took place in a different galaxy.

Looks like fun. I don't think the term "milking it" is being used correctly here. Milking it stikes me more as making a game for the purpose of making a game. Without any care for innovation or fun-factor. This brings a new way to play the game, with the Yoshis, the new powerups, etc, and it'll probably still be fun, too. It's got my purchase.

Mario sucks anyway

fuck you guys and your cynicism. The first one was amazing. I spent forever working on it, and finally maxed it out. Mario games are beyond the shit for all kinds of reasons. Mario is an amazing character, and I will buy his games until I die. except party and sports. His adventure games are where its at.
E: better have luigi playabality again or imma be one unhappy guy

Mario sucks anyway
oh come on. did you honestly click on a thread that is so obviously dedicated to mario just to say that it sucks? without providing any reasoning nonetheless.
e: whoa shit where did his post go?
ICEE

it went to where all posts negatively directed at mario go.
Away from here thank you.

Mario 64 DS and the N64 version are the only 3D Mario games I've played. Loved them both, especially the DS remake.
Now I want a Wii :/

Yeah, Luigi rocks, hope to see him again.

Being luigi was a good twist, it made it harder sometimes and easier others. Being able to jump that high was great, but the low traction would occasionally get me dead.

Looked pretty fucking cool tbh.

I found that doing the reverse... jump... thing, would cancel the lack of traction Luigi had. Saved me countless times.
Even if it isn't enhanced visually, I don't expect that from Wii. As long as the galaxies have entirely new themes, I will be a happy guy.
Edit- InputDirector decided to skip those two words. Thanks Heathen.

Cancel the traction?
He had no traction in the first place...

I think that part of this is the fact that its mario. I don't want incredible realism in a mario game.. thats not why you play them, you know? save realism for shooters. except tf2.

Yeah, one part of Mario I've always liked is that the visuals are clean and simple, to give a pleasant and friendly feel (plus it benefits the framerate). IMO, trying to go all HD-ultrarealistic is just wrong for a Mario game. Save that for other platformers, like those PS3 titles (Uncharted, etc).
