View Full Version : Random lockups...

My PC is generally pretty reliable, but for the past week or two I've occasionally experienced a complete, unrecoverable lockup while a single tone loops through my headphones. On all three occasions iTunes has been open and in two out of the three instances, I was messing about with the shuffle button. I thought it may have somehow caused my PC to shit itself through clicking it too fast, but it just happened for a third time and I only had it running in the background, not even playing any songs. My PC just froze completely, but after resetting, it's running normally again.

I haven't had any error messages nor have I had a chance to check Task Manager, because the PC literally locks right up; however I'm fairly sure it's not the work of malware. I've scanned all the usual hideouts every week for the last month or so and it's come back squeaky clean every time, and aside from this, I'm having no performance or stability issues at all.

Any ideas?

iTunes locks up my computer sometimes when I minimize it to the iTunes toolbar or when I try to access my iPod when it's plugged in. It's such a horribly made program, I don't know why I use it, I guess just because I'm used to it.
