Scripting tuts?

I know you modders make scripts for the game, Halo CE, and I've seen some scripts on servers in other games(not made by halo players, obviously) but I never knew how to do it. Could you point out some tutorials on scripting? Not tutorials on how to use the(aye) language? But putting a script into halo, and make a script do stuff in halo. Honestly I don't know how you do it, where you put said scripts, and other stuff. Do I need to know hacking knowledge, special math, etc.?
