Hello all, I seem to have a problem with my internets, halp D:
For some reason, my internet speed DROPS when I watch a broadcast on Xfire, using Dyyno's plugin.
Also, my Internet download speed is usually 200 - 300 kb per second, but now it drops into 50-100.
I tried Spybot S&D, found some stuff, deleted it, nothing seems to have changed.
Comodo Internet Security is saying I have "insufficient resources" to run this command, yet I have tons. I cannot run the virus scanner because of this error.
So I assume a virus is slowly sappin my interwebs (A SPY IS SAPPIN MEH INTERNETS, NEED A FIREWALL/ANTIVIRUS HERE) and causing meh to have slow internets.
I know how bad this hurts you when you have it. Slow loading youtube videos, lag in video games, slow loading webpages...
The list goes on.
So tell me, any idea how to get my internets workin again? D:

you could always try another av program. i'd recommend avast, it's free, good etc. load it from a flash drive. though if you don't feel like doing that, dump the drive into another computer, as in hot swap the fucker, and scan it for bugs. try adaware as a program to scan for malware. good program, just get the free. i might have more to add in the morning. quite intoxicated now.
also, ctrl alt del, and check your network connections. exit out of aim torrents firefox etc. check if it's abusing your connection. if it is. get a nice little anti conficker package and FUCK IT IN THE ASS.

Its your ISPs way of saying, 'stop downloading pirated material'.

You do know that you don't get 200 KB per every internet activity you do right?
If I had 200 KB per second internet and I download a file that was going at a rate of 150 KB a second then I would have 50 KB of bandwidth left untill the download stops.

I'm having a similar problem. Started happening before 1st June, internet went really slow, no matter what pc I used in the WLAN. I assumed I went over my bandwidth cap and it would be sorted at beginning of month.
Nope, still slow. Stupid ISP.
Perhaps the ISP is having network issues.

Or Deep Packet Inspection or other stuff.
The ISPs cripple certain protocols they don't like, because they're also Satelite/Digital Cable providers. The FCC deemed that illegal but the CRTC hasn't sat on the decision yet.
Codebrain seems to be an American though so I'm not sure.

No, seriously, how is the weather in your area? Storms and shit can cause problems.
My two cents.

Now that you mention it, it's been raining and thundering for about 1 - 2 weeks D:

Cable lines can get raped by storms.Only if they are old lines that are above ground. Newer lines are nearly impervious to most storms, even rated against low level hurricanes. Underground lines are only damaged by physical interference, unless they're poorly shielded and your ground-water saturation is unimaginably high.
Common causes can be poor wires, overheating routers, overheating modem, or a technical problem on your carriers end. You've also got to realize that at various times of the day your internet performance will be lower due to high activity on the pipe from your area.
Try resetting your modem, router, checking to see if they are getting very warm, direct connecting your computer to the modem, resetting your ipconfig in CMD, and see if the problem persists at different times of the day (mainly middle of the night, when no one is online except insomniac nerds like yourself.)

So, I did two things over the past couple of days.
1. I "Scanned Thoroughly" with Avast on my computer, had a couple of viruses, moving them into the chest/deleting them did not fix the problem.
2. I talked with my ISP, they said it wasn't their internet, it was my computer's problem, since my Parent's computer (which is below my room) has a perfect connection.
Just to let you know I have wireless, however I never got this slow speed before this.
Seriously, 41 minutes for downloading one of TheGhost's videos on Custom Turret animating D:

If anyone can't come up with a solution ill have to reformat, and I really don't want to do that D:

Ughghghgh
Apparently no one knows the solution :saddowns:
Microsoft Windows Malicious Removal tool hasn't picked up anything, Avast hasn't picked up anything, neither has Spybot S&D.
It's not my internet, it's clearly my computer.
I have shut down my computer 2 to 3 times already, nothing changed.
I have reset my router/modem about 2 to 3 times as well, nothing has changed.
