Based on a Cormac McCarthy novel, so right off the bat it's going to be drawing the attention of the academy, regardless of the fact that the music is being composed by the guys who scored The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Empire magazine has seen the movie, already calling it "the most important film of 2009". Based on Cormac McCarthy's (May have heard of him; he's the author of a little book called "No Country for Old Men") Pullitzer Prize-winning novel, which has been called "the greatest novel of the past 25 years". Based on the footage in the trailer, it looks like the movie I was hoping "I Am Legend" to be after I read that book. Quotation marks overkill? Yes, I agree.
Literally though, the footage looks exactly what you picture in the book. Read it, you won't regret it.
