honesty?
Any child of the 90's and some more recent cartoon's has gotta like this shit.
Firstly, The Grim Tales from Down Below
http://grim.snafu-comics.com/comics/090611_grim.jpg
Its a story about Grim and Mandy (from the grim adventures, of which I wasn't that big of a fan] that follows their kids. Its actually really interesting because it has cross overs and many cameo's from other characters, including Jack Skelington, Danny Phanton, Spawn, and many others.

The second, by the same fella, is PowerPuff Girls Doujinshi
http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/comics/040404_ppg.jpg
It too, has many cameos and cross over characters. It follows the PowerPuff Girls [sadly I am a huge ppg fan and idk why] The girls have moved and apparently they moved to where every fucking cartoon lives. Characters include, Dexter, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Samurai Jack, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Coup and Megas, and a few Metabots, and many others.

I've read those comics too, Heathen. Great stuff!

The only strip I read with any regularity is Penny-Arcade. I don't read any comic books or newspaper comics.

I am surprised anyone has read these here besides me.
Huero has too.

Fyi, because huero didn't know either, they started updating again too.

Cyanide and Happiness would probably have to be #1. These all come rather close, though:

xkcd
Rooster Teeth comics
Calvin and Hobbes I seriously think this one is obligatory
lol-comics
LegoRobot Comics
and of course, The Castlefunnies. Mushy Chamberpot got it on the list, definitely

I probably missed one though. I always do when it comes to lists like these.

Reaper Man

As far as newspaper comics, Calvin & Hobbes was amazing. Simply the mastery of the newspaper comic.
As far as webcomics, Bob&George was damn good. Miss it still :(

Forgot about this one:

Tintin comics from Belgium. Really love them.

Don't know if they're popular in America, but they've definitely been a hit in Europe (and still are).
