Is it possible to get a google ad sponser for something that's not a website...

Like let's say I wanted to make a little money off a mod I've been working on for nearly 2 and a half years. Hypothetically putting a short text/audio ad at that start of the map.

Where would I go to do such a thing?



Because my parents are always telling me to "stop wasting your time playing video games and get a job" this would be the perfect way to say HAHAH I WAS RIGHT YOU WERE WRONG!

I'm gunna say no... unless if it's like... TF2 or something 'cause It looks like TF2 uses some sort of web based code stuff in their opening things on servers...but even still that's just me making a guess... I have no idea.

Plus... google ads don't pay much anymore :/

If you were to try making money off of a mod you would probably get a law suit.

Not sure if adverts break the EULA. Since I'm not "selling" the mod I'm only attaching adverts to it.

Also my last few maps have gotten between 3,000 and 6,000 downloads. If I get 3,000 to 6,000 on all 10 maps and each player plays those maps around 5 - 10 times. That would be about 300,000 ad views. 1/3 a million.

Not bad really.

Create a site. Make sure you have something nobody else has (info and content wise). If you have excellent content, you won't even need adwords. Google will advertise for you for free simply because you have excellent content. People may hire you to do contract jobs.

This is how my parent's get most of their traffic for their site.

This site gets about 300,000 pageviews every two weeks. That might translate to $10 on Google ads, assuming there are some clicks in there.
